Jman_gamerX8 teamed up with Mario to kick my ass!

I had an interesting dream last night...

You see, the next character contest was coming up. We did the contest divided by ERA, like the game contest. CJayC only had the 8-bit division released at that time. Well, it was supposed to be only from that era... It was full of weird names I've never heard of. There was some obscure name that was #1 seed that got a bye for the first round. I figured the seeding must've been random, considering Link (about the only legit 8-bit character I recognized) wasn't anywhere near the top seed. What's also strange is that Vivi made it in. Apparently CJayC thought Vivi = Black Mage or something. But, then, after that...I noticed that Kuja and Zidane were also in the division! What's CJayC smoking?! Does he think FFIX belongs with 8-bit games just because it's old-school style? Interestingly enough, Kuja was set up to face Robotnik...of course Robotnik shouldn't belong there, either.

Yeah, that's all I remember.

Seriously... the only thing I have is FF7 at one so far. I dislike the drop down list, and then the right in slots, it should be all write-ins IMO, just because the drop down box will taint users decisions.

I went with the SpC2K4 X-Sts for the first seven, then it's a crapshoot from there. I picked FF10, GTA:SA and KH for the heck of it.

I guarantee that the Spring X-stats won't even be close. No rallying for Starcraft this time. I don't see people adding a link on Battle.net to rally people to go fill out their list and put Starcraft.

Another thing is since this is a fill in list, a lot of the games that appeared strong in the spring won't be nearly as such in this contest. Super Mario Bros. 3 may be the most popular game of its generation, and was able to stand up to Chrono Trigger, but I don't think it will make it as a consensus top 10 game. I think Super Mario 64 would actually beat it actually.

Some other games I am iffy about, but I'm definitely NOT clinging to the stats. Hell, recency could play a huge role in this contest as well. For all we know, there could be thousands of Heroic Mario's out there who's flavor of the month change daily!!! <_<;

For example, if you pick a given game to finish in third place, and it actually finishes seventh, you'll receive 4 points. The total of all of the points you score determines your final score, and the 10 users with the lowest scores will win prizes

Clearly, you don't understand the points system this time. You get points based on how far your pick is from the actual position. You're aiming LOW, you want ZERO, which means you picked them all correctly. Zero points this time means You're Winnar.

Yep. Every game that you have on your list will be ranked (I think). So if you have something like say, Big Rigs as your number one, and it ranks in 1000th place, you're gonna have 999 points. <_<

It is kind of confusing. If you pick 10 games that all aren't in the top 10, you'd technically be getting zero points. So I wonder how he will incorporate that. I was thinking he would keep a track of ALL the games put in and rank them all accordingly.
