Um...are you people insane? As of right now this match has 7500 more votes than Crono-Mario, which finished, you'll remember, with 103,000. This is shaping up to easily be the most voted match of the contest. If you're curious as to why this match has so few votes compared to last year, last year was Cloud-Link was on a weekend.

I realize this is the kind of vote total that other characters can only dream of, but this is Link and Cloud afterall. They are supposed to be on an entirely different level for vote totals. In 2k3 they drew in 11000 more votes than second place and last year it was 23000 more votes. With the generally higher vote totals this year, most people were hoping to at least beat last years record of 124000 and maybe even surpass 130000. If the vote really picks up later, it can still do it, but right now it doesn't look so great.

Link/Cloud has always been a "typical patterns go out of the window" type of match. If Cloud manages to keep it at 52% for the remainder of the match, it's going to depend on how both Mario and Link do against Sephiroth.

It's not that crazy. Cloud is no slouch with the day vote. In fact, he and Crono are the only Square characters that go out of the "night wolf" mold.

Anyway, if Mario manages to make it close tomorrow, like, 53-47 or something like that, THEN it virtually puts an end to that boost talk - though completely excluding the possibility of Vincent benefitting a Mario/Cloud-like spike, although to a much lesser magnitude, isn't what I'd want to do. SMS' effect completely vanished when it came to the Crono match, after all.
