Aaaaaand here comes all of the people who need to adjust the stats to their liking in order to "make them look right". The only think you need to do is adjust Yoshi based on 2004 Laharl, Samus based on Spring 2005 Ganondorf, possibly Pac Man, and Ness based on... whatever would give him his highest value possible :)

But this stuff isn't worth it, and is solely a "make the stats look right" endeavor:

3. Snake/Sora. The mandatory one match that blows up the stats for no apparent reason. Even when putting Sora back up to last year's level, Alucard still seems a bit low.
4. Crono/Vincent. Whether we adjust Vincent or not is up for debate, but the other guys from the Devil division NEED an adjustment.

Because as we know, no characters are allowed to change strength from year to year. Something had to be amiss with Snake/Sora. It was obvious, just like Tidus/Mega Man!

The single biggest snub in the Summer 2002 Contest was Magus, so it comes as no surprise that the newcomer who performed the best of all newcomers in the Summer 2003 Contest was Magus himself. Magus wasn't a character on par with the elites like many would have liked, but him managing to finish in the Top 10 in the Xsts two years in a row proves beyond any doubt that Magus has enough of a fanbase to hold his own in these contests. And even with Magus being adjusted accordingly in the SFF Adjusted Xsts this year, it is still very possible that he still managed to suffer a small shot to his overall strength with the massive SFF that appeared in the bracket. Magus may not be able to beat the likes of Link or Crono, but it's not a stretch to see him being on the level of Sonic or Solid Snake. In a balanced bracket, Magus is an absolute force to the characters that hover around his level in strength, and we can only hope that we get to see what Magus is truly capable of in future contests.

So. What? Seriously.

You act as if it was anywhere near normal.

Besides, for the time being the Tidus comparison doesn't work really well. Magus was an overrated fraud, so so was Tidus. The big problem is that Shadow doesn't seem to want to fall anywhere. He either fluked the 45% on Mario, or the loss to Tidus. Sora, on the other hand... the only time he did that bad was in an SFF match against Aeris. We can't get a clear read on HK without Sora, so we'll skip that. Hayabusa? By all means it should've been closer. Heck, ZERO got a very similar score to Sora. And, well, there was Samus... but he wasn't blown the hell away like Frog did. As a matter of fact, if you look at Samus and only Samus, Sora kicks Frog's ass. And Frog beat Riku.

Yeah.
