I don't think MM/Link SFF is very controversial anymore after what happened to Yoshi. there are stranger outcomes than that that have happened this year, like Snake/Sora.

truth be told, we're going to have some nice and neat stats this year. Samus/Mario and MM/Yoshi are about the only matches with significant SFF, unless I'm forgetting someone.

I'd take Sonic over Snake, as if you take Snake over Sonic you HAVE to take him over Mega Man...and I don't think Snake's up to the task yet. Give MM another drop and Snake another good game and I can see it happening easily, though...

Mario vs. Crono I, Ulti's SC2K5 Write-ups:

Not that this stopped people from rooting against Mario, of course. Cloud was absolutely beloved by this board back in 2002, and the board did not take his loss well. As futile an effort as it may have seemed, Crono got a hefty chunk of support from the Cloud faithful during this match. Unfortunately, it didn't help nearly as much as expected. When hte poll first opened, despite any and all effort for Crono to put up a fight, Mario simply proved to be too much. He survived the early struggle from Crono, and eventually weathered the storm before stretching out a lead of a few hundred votes. Crono fans tried all they could to keep him in the match, but as the morning and afternoon voting blocks rolled in, Mario was easily able to keep Crono down en route to building a lead of just over 1000 votes. Crono kept trying to fight back, but Mario constantly proved to be too much for him and kept any and all would-be comeback attempts at bay.

But if Ulti's already writing this match off...

There's not exactly a lot of ground between the two... and it's not like they will be sepperated by a vast ocean of votes, Crono isn't spectacular at night and doesn't fall apart in the day. this could be a classic in the making, who knows.

Crono is relatively better at night than he is in the day, looking back on his past matches. Nothing too extreme, he's like MM in his consistency. However, Mario is an absolute BEAST when it comes to the morning vote, and he'll be solid all throughout the day. Looking at that, and at past MvCs, I just don't see this shaping up to be much of anything unless we have a 2002 redux on our hands...and even then, that was only interesting due to mass cheating.

Okay, now assuming Mario ends at 54% (and IMO that is his absolute ceiling at this point, I'd be surprised to see him get past 53% at the end of this) and using a constant Squall, exactly how much did AC help out Vincent? Something to definitely keep in mind for tomorrow's match, as FFVII is still kicking ass on the top FAQs list right now.
