Why does everyone think Mario has gained so much? Honestly, his match against Zero was the only impressive one. Him vs Ness and Samus only proved that he is the prince of SFF (Link is still the king), which has no relevance to the upcoming final.

Forgot about Snake? Snake's obviously a lot stronger than he was last year, or he would've lost to Zelda...and Bowser...and Kirby.

Umm... No

Snake absolutely disappointed in all of his matches except for Manny & Sora, and he did so-so against Mario.

You don't think what he did to ness and samus was impressive? SFF aside getting 60% on samus is nothing to scoff at.

I barely find being spring Bowser dissapointing and a possible increased Zelda by a good amount dissapointing either. Snake isn't anything to scoff at right now. He's at least at his 2003 levels.

It couldn't of been any more sff then what link did. It's not like the match would be 50/50 without sff, and even if it would be that's still impressive.

Damn, that's stretching it, even for me. Oh well, I can still dream...who wouldn't love seeing Kirby at #3?

Snake absolutely disappointed in all of his matches except for Manny & Sora, and he did so-so against Mario.

WTF? His match vs. Manny was his most disappointing by far. Against Bowser wasn't terribly impressive, I'll give you that, but it was still pretty good considering that he had his sprite to contend with.

What Mario did to Samus was impressive, but it was still SFF.

Yeah, and it puts Mario above 42%, far out of Crono's reach.

RPGuy said that Mega Man couldn't have SFF'd Yoshi more than Link did, and thus Sonic had no chance. Let's not go there because you really have no idea, when it comes down to it. It's baseless assumption.

Oooo, Snake 2k3 (which is Snake's floor, IMO) puts down to a pitiful 41.9%. Definitely within Crono's reach there, despite Crono's showing no signs of even being close to 40%.

That would not surprise me in the least. The majority of his performance against Samus WAS SFF. I really don't see him being but a smidge higher than her.

I guess you don't notice how slow and repetitive the gameplay is compared to the original. Don't get me wrong, the game LOOKS cool as hell. But it just doesn't have the same feel as the first game.

Putting Snake at his 2003 value puts Mario right near Samus's value--around 39.11%, I believe. That means Mario is projected to win with 52.46%.

That's nothing that Crono cannot overcome.

I believe his performance on zero (if we assume hes constant which his performances indicated) put him alittle below samus, if not almost right at her level.

He hasn't exactly been looking capable of overcoming something like that. Besides mario's absolute floor still looks to be ahead of where crono likely is. I'm done for now, I'll just wait and see tomorrow. I doubt crono has it in him though.

Extrapolating Mario through Diablo puts him way higher. I don't think that he's too reliable.

Incidentally, what's Diablo expected to get on Kefka? It'd be amusing if their ratio was the same as in the Spring.

Yeah, but he also completely destroyed zero. That's got to at least add evidence to him being a lot stronger then usual this year.

Adjusted Zero puts Mario on level with Sephiroth, whereas unadjusted Zero puts Mario right around Samus's value. Just to note. The latter falls in line with 2003 Snake.

But to put Mario on that Sephiroth level, he'd be projected to get ~56% against Crono. I find that to be extremely unlikely myself.

Ganondorf's on the receiving end of double SFF.

And just when I thought it couldn't get as bad as it did last year for Ganon...

As for adjusting Samus, I guess I would be alright with adjusting her equal, or slightly under Mario.

And really, relying on Spring Diablo is silly. It's obvious to see that he wasn't at Spring Contest level.
---
RIP Samus: Mario, you better take down Seph.
Crono vs. Mega Man - Bracket: Crono - Vote: Crono (108/144)
From: DragoonsKill91 | Posted: 9/18/2005 6:20:51 PM | Message Detail
the other thing is we really have no clue how strong samus is this year. She beat Yuri, a newcomer who was obviously fodder anyway, Frog, who was apparantly overrated alot the problem is we dont know how much, ganondorf which was without a doubt affected by SFF, and then promptly beaten 60-40 by mario in a match decided completely by SFF.
