They actually PUT "MARIO MARIO" on the pic? I think that's rather dumb. No matter how much sense you try to put into them being called the Mario Bros., they are still just Mario and Luigi. People try to get too technical with these things... *sigh*

GG Sonic... now let's just see how Mega Man measures up to Crono. I really wouldn't like to see a Mario/Mega Man fight because I feel that match would nuke the stats for next year.

Besides, I damn sure wouldn't mind seeing Mario/Crono IV... <_<

I had an idea for a Mario/Crono IV pic. Take the previous three pics for the other matches, and put them in a cascading format, with 2K2 furthest in back, followed by 2K3, then 2K4. And at the very front, put a new one to represent the fourth meeting.

And then, in the bottom right corner, put up '24:15' to display how long Mario needed to win part II. Cheating bastard.

It's amazing how, when Sonic doesn't finish the comeback on a match few expected him to win, he "choked." When Bowser fails to complete the comeback on Snake when few expected him to win, everyone applauds his strength.

Or perhaps the optional sidequest Vincent is stronger than the 'in your party from the get-go and extraordinarily developed, both personality and jugs-wise' Tifa. Yeah, that's it.

Well you see, most of Solid Snake's fans kick ass. We can make an exception for Bowser coming so close to a legend.

I don't like the first picture at all, and the third picture, while better, is still one I've never liked too much for Snake. The second picture is the best of them all IMO, but none are truly stellar. I guess I'll have to hope that picture is the most frequently occuring?

I wish Ceej had used different ones, there were a few on this board that I thought were much better (he might be trying to shy away from MGS3 Snake).

I really, *really* wish Snake would clear the 45% hurdle, but that seems doubtful. Half the board still seems pissed at him for scraping by Bowser. I forgot that most of the people here (myself included) are Nintendo marks. = /

I hope the Revolution doesn't turn out to be a flop...it'd be a shame to see Nintendo take a hard hit in this contest after the magic they've worked this year...

I'm hoping for 42.41% so Kirby > Samus. As much as I love Snake, I think 45% might be asking too much.

Even Super Luigi isn't that bad when it comes to Snake fanboyism. He just can't type all that well.

But Sonic fans... ugh. I couldn't have written a better script for today's match if I tried. It's going to be reeeeally hard for me to not be biased come PCA time.

Hey, I'm a Sonic fan, and miffed he couldn't pull off the comeback...though I guess I really haven't been whining, though. = ( Maybe being a Snake fanboy offsets that preference.

Or maybe I just don't meet the required level of 'fanboy' for Sonic. Eh...

Or perhaps the optional sidequest Vincent is stronger than the 'in your party from the get-go and extraordinarily developed, both personality and jugs-wise' Tifa. Yeah, that's it.

I can see it as a possibility. There's a big Aeris/Tifa rivalry, just like Mike/Joel, Nintendo/Sega, or Yankees/Sox. It may have died down a little like the two former rivalries, but I have no doubt that it's still there.

I still think Tifa's stronger, though.

*everytime Sonic gets more than 2 votes in an update*

Sonic Fanboys-OMG SONIC IS CLOSING THE LEAD!! COMBACK!! MAGE MAN IZ DOOOOOOOMMMMEDD!!

*Mega Man gains it back*

Sonic Fanboys-NOOOO VOTE STUFFING! MEGA MAN ISEN'T GOOD WITH THE DAY VOTE!

Everyone else-This a good match, but a little overhyped.
From: bigkevinm84 | Posted: 9/16/2005 10:31:53 PM | Message Detail
528, looks like Sonic didn't keep it under 500 like I hoped. This match, said and done, won't look as close as it had been the whole day when it is looked back on. As much as I was supporting MM > Sonic, I really hope the lead doesn't get that high with the late night vote. Wire to wire matches rock.

Mega Man > Sonic
From: yoblazer33 | Posted: 9/16/2005 10:34:03 PM | Message Detail
I honestly wouldn't be that shocked to see Snake hit 45%, even though it is a stretch. He's looked good in every non-sprite match, and there is absolutely, positively, ZERO fanbase overlap between Mario and himself. Now that Sonic is out, the only character I can realistically see overperform on Mario is Snake.
