SC2K5 Guru Contest: Where _______ kicked my ass.

Sonic/MM is the one match I relied heavily on the x-stats for. I had no idea, so I just took the higher value. I had Sonic at first.

I debated about taking Sonic over MM based on the 2k4 X-stats, but then I decided to side with precedence.

MM has vastly outperformed Sonic in 2k2 and 2k3, while Samus' huge jump and MM's huge drop in 2k4 looked a little fishy to me.

So I finally decided to take MM to the Final 4, looks like it's paying off today.

Analysis

Let’s all welcome Solid Snake. This is his first appearance in the final 4, but sadly he won’t make it to the finals. Snake struggled against Bowser just to get here and to keep the noble 9 name for another contest. Mario has been much more impressive than Snake this year and the other years. There is no chance Mario will miss the finals this year.

Ouch, from what was suppose to be a very close match turned into the blowout of the round. Mario crushed Samus as he crushed many of the board’s brackets. If you believed that there was no SFF then I would’ve called you crazy since Samus is no where near that close to Zero, but Mario’s win is impressive none of the less. Snake built a 2100 vote lead on Bowser before the after school vote came in mere hours Bowser took 1400 of those votes and if it wasn’t for the night vote he would’ve came close to beating Snake.

Not much to talk about for this match, Snake barley beats Bowser, Mario > Bowser. The only thing left to talk about is how much Mario would beat him by. I think Snake would at least break 40% on him, but looking at what he did to Zero (and Samus if you look past the SFF) Snake may fall short of it. Even with MGS3 I don’t think Snake would break 45% on Mario like what some people say so all I can say is rest up because we have a few exciting days ahead of us.

I'm honestly enjoying this one far more than these two. There were a lot of surprises in 2002, but there were almost as much this year despite the fact that we had three years worth of contest matches. Heck, the board lost out on a unanimous pick, something that would've never happened three years ago. Our "knowledge" of past results makes surprises even more surprising, and I'm loving this.

Ha ha ha ha. IMO this is the best match ever, because my two favourite character are Sonic and Megaman, so I'm just happy that the match is this close. This was the toughest match for me to predict in the whole bracket (Including the ToC)

1 and 2 are pretty near even for me, and this current contest isn't far behind. When all is said and done, this year's contest may indeed be my new #1. 2004's SFF borefest and 2003's Cloud/Seph final just didn't cut it for me, and the Villains Contest... well... ya.
