But think about the opponents he faced. Diablo (Who also got link'd) and a Squaresoft character. No wonder why he did bad in the night vote.

That's what I said about 12 hours ago. Sonic is bad with the night, and he isn't capable of makign enough out of the day to beat Mega.

It's foolish to just count Sonic out because of the Night Vote. Especially in a match like this.

I remember hearing Sonic would runaway with the day vote, and then Megaman would runaway with the after-school. It'd be silly to completely count Sonic out at this point.

The general consensus was that Sonic would benefit from the after school vote. Mega Man's time is supposed to be the night vote.

My guess, based on past PPs, is that MM winning is more painful to the brackets as a whole.

The brackets never have much faith in Sonic and theres no Sonic winners on the leaderboard well there's 3 Mega Man. I say Sonic would break more brackets.
From: transience | Posted: 9/16/2005 3:44:37 PM | Message Detail
I think MM's prediction percentage would be higher, but MM's division was a lot easier. I would expect more people to go for MM at the top and Sonic in the middle/bottom.

Past shows brackets that aren't really in contention have more faith in Sonic than MM. Having 3 top 50 spots doesn't mean much about the other 30000 brackets. With an exeptionally easier bracket of course MM has higher PP to make it to this match. Really, Sonic's name isn't on the top 10 worst PP list while MM is.

Sonic will most likely retake the lead by the night vote kicks in, but then MM will retake it once again and this time for all near the very end of the match.

Btw, I found a funny FF VII pic here:

Same. I'm only cheering for Mega Man because of my bracket (spineless, I know). If it had no chance of appearing in the Top 50, I'd be hoping for a down to the wire classic.

It's already been said, but I'll say it again: the top brackets will likely side with Mega Man, the middle brackets will likely side with Sonic. Mega Man's usually under-estimated anyways; despite having already beaten Snake and Vercetti as well as gettin' a one-seed, Mega Man still only got about a third of the brackets to win his division last year. I fully expect Sonic to have more brackets on his side here than Mega Man.

Generally speaking there, of course there will be gurus who picked Sonic to win for legitimate reasons, while there will also be n00bs who picked MM accidentally.

Sonic received 51.73% of the vote that hour (previous: 51.03%). He averaged 53.75 votes/15 min (previous: 32.75). Should this continue, he will take the lead around 17:30, about a half hour before the night vote.

Sonic/MM is the one match I relied heavily on the x-stats for. I had no idea, so I just took the higher value. I had Sonic at first.
