Thing is, if it wasn't for Advent Children, I'd think long and hard before taking Tifa over Yoshi.

I think we should get to vote on who gets to be in the analysis crew. good lord.
people are saying this match is going to be painfully close. I get the feeling it's going to be anticlimactic.

I'm getting the same vibe that I got for Vincent/Squall that I am for
this match. I honestly have no clue who's going to win, and that it's
going to be a toss-up.
And yeah, the things Vlado says...

RIP Samus: Mario, you better take down Seph.
Crono vs. Vincent - Bracket: Crono - Vote: Crono (92/112)

Nominating people based on past performances and what not for the
analysist crew sounds like a good idea. Some people just don't deserve
to be there.

It'd been tougher, yeah, but I still would have taken Tifa over Yoshi;
I know he showed signs of increasing against Laharl and Pac-Man, but
Luigi turned what should have been a loss against KOS-MOS into a
near-doubling that outdid Ryu. I'm not saying I'd take Luigi over
Yoshi, per say, but I think they're very close this year...
...unless Mega Man didn't over-perform against Yoshi, in which case Luigi smokes his ****.

I make analysises (is that the right way to say it plural?) for myself
before contests anyways, heh; I should have really thought to myself
and realized it'd been nice and easy to send 'em to ya.

I think we need a year off from characters. a summer game contest would be suh-weet.
we've had four of these, five if you count the villain contest. I enjoy them and all, but if we had a year off, it'd be hella unpredictable. and that'd be great to see.

That's what I've wanted since the last off-season... ditching the

characters.

a game contest would be extremely unpredictable. for one, it's been two
years since we've had one, and for two, the last one was riddled with
games that shared consoles. if you make a real bracket, it would be
just awesome to watch. CT vs. SSBM? FFT vs. Metroid Prime? MGS2 vs.
Super Metroid? I just picked three random matches there, but I bet
there's no consensus there whatsoever besides for MP.

I would rather hope to see how a Mega man game would perform in the game contest.
And then also maybe verify Super Mario 64's strength.

Appreciate the props transience.
As for character-contests taking a break...hey, I can work with that for one summer, but things are gonna be hella-unpredictable next year anyways. We've never had a big-name console be released since the contests began here, and now we're gonna have three. I understand that LoZ:TP, MP3, SSBO, Mario 128, KH2, FF12, and Halo 3 are all supposed to be out by next summer, too (probably with some other big-name games). Let's not forget that it's now somewhat-possible for Gordon Freeman to win a match, too...
...I want another Game Contest, too, but not at the expense of shoving the Character Contest aside next summer.

I don't think a MM title would do so hot. I'd hate to think which one
you'd choose. I'd go with MM2 or 3, but I think it'd lose to a bunch of
modern games. I love MM2 and 3, though.
I also think the new console titles are overblown. who's the strongest new character from the 128 bit era? Auron? it'll obviously help out the classic characters who get new games, but it usually takes a while before they get a title. I'd hate to see what SSBO does to the contest if it comes out with the revolution.

2 updates now, actually. If he can keep the lead under 9292 in the next
five minutes he officially wins a 15 minute update (I don't know many
he's won so far, but any are impressive when you remember Crono held
Mario to 3, IIRC).

What's up with Ulti always bashing the Sonic series? Besides Sonic
Heroes, all of Sonic's game have actually been GOOD! Didn't he only
JUST pick up Sonic Adventure 2 no more than 2 months ago? Would he
rather just have Sonic completely disappear from the gaming industry
while Mario and Co. have every type of title and spinoff imaginable?

Eh, I couldn't ever fathom voting Mega Man over Sonic. StH3+S&K
owns anything the Mega franchise ever did, and despite the growing
pains, Sonic has actually made a successfully consistent transition
into 3D, for better or worse. Hell, if they had just made all the
stages in SA2 Sonic/Shadow stages, I'd have been completely sold.

The Mario spinoffs are indeed awesome, but the fact that I know they're
coming at the expense of a true followup to the next big Mario title
angers me. That and the Mario Party series. They need to stop milking
that and let it die.

I personally think Sonic is stronger this year than he was in 2003 or
2004. I think that Tifa, Aeris, and Vincent are all in the same general
area. I'm banking more on Sonic being stronger than Mega Man being
weaker here, though he has shown a couple of signs of that.

It could work, but Nintendo needs to get their heads out of their asses
and realize that the 'nunchucks' thing is a really stupid idea. What
they need is to just take the remote part, and allow it to be fitted
into a bigger 'controller' that has the traditional control we're used
to. So you can play games regularly, or detach the remote portion to
utilize the 'revolutionary' game style. Everyone wins.
