For those wondering about Mega Man getting a Nintendo lift, I'm here to say that as a lifelong Nintendite (is that a word), I would only vote Mario, Link, Ness, and Kefka ahead of Mega Man. I do associate Mega Man with Nintendo.

I never said Mega Man was amazing with the night vote or anything, but Sonic is just horrible with it. Ryu was leading him throughout the entire night from what I recall.

Heh, of course, should Mega Man keep these 50-vote updates up through-out the night and the second night vote, he should almost certainly have it...but I don't think he can keep this up for much longer.

Ryu peaked at 51.04%(lead of 60) at around 1:00.

Ryu only lead from 0:40 to 2:30 with Sonic being ahead for a good portion of that time period.

Mega Man doing so well is awesome... but the thought of Mega Man getting SFFed in the finals makes me a sad panda.

I do have high hopes for the bottom semifinal, though. That's pretty much my dream match (my #1 and #2 contest favorites fighting it out) and it *could* be a close one.

I just got to thinkin' about Vincent and his performance against Crono (and Squall, too): perhaps he's at his best in SFF-possible matches like that. Think about it; the main arguement against him is that he's an optional character that many people will have missed out on...which is debatable enough as-is (though I do think it hurts him to a degree). This can hurt him against other characters that don't share the same kind of fanbase, like Dante or Kerrigan (believe it or not, heh). However, when facing other Square characters from huge games (like Squall/Crono with FF8/CT), their fans are alot more likely to already know him, thus helping him out.

Couple this with the already-possible rSFF from FF7 > FF8/CT and being from a newer game (in Crono's case, can't say the same for Squall), and I think there's a good case for rSFF yesterday.

You'd think more of the newbs would have learned by now. Sonic is not god in the day, and Mega Man doesn't fall apart in it either. If MM were as bad as Snek in teh day I might think Sonic had a shot at winning since he's slightly better at the day than Bowser, but that's not the case. Sonic won't even get as close as Bowser did to winning this.
