I think that has more to do with Samus's inability to lay the SFF smack down on her kin. Really, I have trouble seeing her beat anyone from the Mario or Zelda series a lot worse than she's supposed to. She gets the Nintendo vote and is the resident badass of the company (she's like Nintendo's version of Snake), but when push comes to shove, she isn't as near and dear to the fanbase's heart.

If the Zelda series and Mario series share enough of a fanbase, I'd take Bowser easily.

There are 120 five-minute updates left...if Bowser gets 14.35 votes more than Snake each update, then this ends in a tie. For the past hour, Bowser's gotten an average of 20.42 votes more than Solid each update, estimating Bowser would win by 728 votes.

Of course, there's alot more to it than that, but that's still scary.

That race is a formality now. While Bowser was able to stifle Snake to a greater degree than Zelda did early, he still took the brunt of some CQC. He's too far gone to win.

Besides, I never said Ganondorf was disliked. It's obvious that he's not. He's just not beloved like Bowser is. Fanbase overlap is a tricky thing anyway. Ganondorf is barely ahead in the Spring, statistics-wise, and it wouldn't take much of a swing for it to favor Bowser.
