I remember when I had Mario over Crono once upon a time, and the entire stats topic said that I had lost my mind and was throwing my bracket away. I eventually changed to Crono winning it all, but I think it's safe to say that the stats topic isn't nearly the resource of good advice that it used to be when it comes to these contests.

What I mean is, how could Mario beat either Cloud or Link? If he faces Cloud, hes facing someone who just beat Link despite all the odds being against him. If hes facing Link, hell get SFFed. Crono beat Mario last year and Link kicked Cronos ass before beating Cloud. I doubt Mario is anywhere close to being stronger than Link after a year. I would fully expect Link to get over 60% if they faced again.

Plus, no matter which way you look at it, 60% on Samus is far better than 60% on Master Chief.

So I wake up to see Mario raping Samus. Not in the disgusting, tentacles are involved way, but in the 'I said from day one this match wouldn't be close' way.

Well, at the very least this teaches us SFF patterns change with the demographics. Using 2002 and 2003 says Mario could never ever smack Samus around with the proverbial SFF stick like he is now.

Anyway, I just got done calculating the points lost in the BOP, and it's amazing. After losses of 8, 4, 12, 20, 0, 76, 20 and 4 last round, depending on how you calculate it today it's either 5264 (main bracket), 5384 (with ToC) or 6224 (odds calculation factor).
