So what is the explanation for Mario getting around the same percent as Link on Samus? Obviously theres SFF here, but then that means Link should of beaten Samus by even more. We've seen the outcome of a Link/Mario match. Whats the deal?

This contest is reminding me of the period between 1985-1995 all over again. You have Nintendo, then you have everyone else. I don't get why such a high number of new visitors are pro-Nintendo out of nowhere though. What caused it, if anything? At least in 2003, there was Kingdom Hearts to blame for the large Square increase.

Well, after a pleasant Monday (who knew there were so many Mega Man fans here?) I'm back to disagreeing with 90% of the opinions expressed in this topic. Seeing Cloud defeat Link and then go on to take his revenge on Mario would almost make it worth watching Mario take the main bracket... almost. But that'll never happen, so I'll just hope Link gives Mario the drubbing he deserves.

How about Mario vs Cloud? He did beat him before. It's actually not out of the question for this year too considering Mario's performance right now.

FYI, if today ends 60-40, Zero would be expected to get 56.56% on Ganondorf. Did Ganon/Samus suffer enough SFF against Samus/Mario to cover for that?

okay, I just skimmed a few hundred posts. for whatever it's worth, I believe Mario is flat-out stronger than Samus this year; destroying Zero like he did made me think that. I do think there is some SFF here, but I wouldn't call it rSFF. Mario is legitimately stronger than Samus. I hate, hate, hate saying that, but it's true.

Snake could be in trouble for several reasons: 1.) he's got an ugly sprite picture, 2.) "I feel asleep" is not the most popular of engrish-isms, and 3.) Bowser's got the best home field advantage picture he could possibly have, the bridge. also, if Bowser wins, consider our x-stats for the top quarter of the brackets:

1. Mario
2. Samus
3. Zero
4. Ganon
5. Bowser
6. Kirby
7. Snake

projected, of course, but that really sucks. I still think Snake will win (I really don't think pictures matter as much as some people do), but it's much more in doubt now than it was an hour ago.
