SC2K5 Favorites - Solid Snake, Kirby, Mario, Leon Kennedy.

anyone who believes in Link/MM SFF should believe in MM/Yoshi. the only difference is that Yoshi wasn't on the NES. we now have two matches that show a character performing oddly - first MM and now Yoshi. this is going to make characters like Ocelot look like absolute trash.

MM is a platforming character that has similarities to Nintendo characters. Sora is an RPG character with no similarities whatsoever to Snake. it's completely different. if Snake/Sora is SFF, then so is Leon/MM, and we saw how that played out. and if you believe that's rSFF, get out of my stats topic.

considering that people were saying that Yoshi would perform as well as Tifa did against Sonic, there's obviously something going on here, whether you call it underperformance or SFF.

Harrich - I knew Tidus being so high would be the one thing that stood out, so that was to be expected. I didn't know you took Cloud over Link, though.

Don't jump to conclusions so easily Harrich. As much as I'm a diehard Link fan I still acknowledge Cloud has a chance. If people are so bent on Mario going to the finals, if he beats Samus, and having match 4 vs Crono, then obviously they believe he can turn it around. Why can't Cloud then?

I only say this because I don't want to sound biased becauese I'm a Link fan, and also because I always get nervous when he versus Cloud.

So I wake up to Mega Man doubling Yoshi... and Mega Man getting one of the biggest picture advantages in recent memory. Tifa could be naked and not have an advantage like this. Leon>Yoshi? Sure, go ahead, throw that in your prize-entry bracket next year. Yoshi should lower this percentage throughout the day, but MM>Sonic is looking rather sexy again after being all but written off last round.

Ouch, Mega Man's absolutely owning the morning vote. He'll probably lose some ground after school, but I'm extremely impressed with what he's doing here.

Oh, and this is obvious SFF. Even though Mega Man is most known for his NES days and Yoshi for his SNES and on days, they both have games on the SNES! And there's MMAC on the Gamecube!! Obvious SFF!!!

I'm not quite sure why people are so averse to the idea of SFF when it comes to Mega Man. It seems more like you have to stretch to show there isn't SFF in this match than to show that there is. Heh, everyone's all like, "NINTENDO BOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!"

Now that I think about, I remember browsing a bunch of message boards in the past that asked 'Who'd you like the see in the next Smash Brothers', you'd be amazed how many people bring up Megaman. I'm surprised people still consider him a 'Nintendo' character after the series migrated to Playstation.

Yeah I remembered when my friend had just got Super Smash Brothers, and he had unlocked every character except Luigi. He then said that he thought Megaman was the last character, and then I told him that the blue bomber was a work of Capcom and not Nintendo. Later he found out that Luigi was the last character, and he said he wouldn't unlock him just because he was so disappointed that it wasn't Megaman who was the last unlockable character.

Another fun thing I have read on a forum "Link being exclusive Gamecube character in SC2 is a suprising smart choiche from Nintendo, I thought they would throw in Mario or Megaman in it"

Why does everyone think Megaman is Nintendo? Didn't everyone grew up with Sonic the Hedgehog and Megaman Wily wars or is it just me?

I like both characters, but I think that their companies need to stop being idiots with them. Capcom is the king of rehashing, though Sonic Team isn't too far behind. Some may bring up Mario being the same way, but the Nintendo clan generally puts out good games when they do side projects. Mario Tennis, Mario Baseball, Mario Golf, and of course the SSB series all kick tons of ass.
