Actually, HM, you have to factor in that Aeris faced Sonic in his weakest year.

Aerith's ranking in 2003 is what I used, it isn't as though she'd go UP as Sonic went up with coming years. She's at 32.81% against BL and once Sonic hits 57.27%, Tifa is brought to 35.99% against BL -- which assumes 39.27% for Sonic against 2004 Link.

I think Aeris/Tifa would be very close, unless SFF occurs.

54% is still a close match before SFF.

Sonic in all probability ain't equal to 2003, but we won't know where Tifa lies until Crono v. Sonic/MM, IMO. If she ends up considerably over Vincent/Squall, then I'd take her over Aeris. If she ends up more or less equal, or even below, I'd take Aeris without even thinking about it.

Speaking of which, how does Tifa compare against Aeris when extrapolating through Sonic 2k4?

I was actually doing some thinking to why Sonic and Bowser sucked so much in 2003 - hell, how EVERYONE in Cloud's division sucked in 2003.

My theory is that Link overperformed on Cloud. His actual value is lower than what he got on Cloud, so Cloud is as a result underrated - and by extension, Sonic, Zero, Bowser, Yoshi, etc.

Well, Zero was fairly impressive in 2004. Aeris disappeared. Master Chief leaped. Conker is fodder, so he didn't matter. IIRC, Scorpion also rose a bit.

When you consider that Bowser could very well be able that and Yoshi looks to be higher than 2004 himself, that's certainly not something completely ridiculous to believe. Hell, this match isn't even over yet either. Right now, using that 39.27% for Sonic, Tifa ranks below 2004 Sonic. There's still plenty of the day vote left too.

Like I mentioned, he may not be THAT high, but Sonic is at least going to hit 37% this year. Using that would lower Tifa enough so that Luigi isn't at 33% on BL. So if you prefer to look at it like that, then go ahead. But don't even try to tell me Sonic is close to his 2004 value, or do something even more absurd and try to tell me he's at his 2003 value.

2003 was by far Snake's best year before this year. Magus just had one great match against Link; he failed to double up Sam Fisher, and Ganondorf was really weak back then.

2k2 - Cloud beats Alucard and then faces Mario, losing due to PGC, SMS, and potential cheating.
2k4 - Ganondorf beats Alucard and then is revealed to be weaker than CATS.
2k5 - Sora beats Alucard and then dies horribly to Snake for no apparent reason, though Snake did have a good pic for once.
