Heh. Squall would need 20 votes per update to win this one now.

"Yeah, the same Luigi that Squall got 60% on in 2003."

I disagree. I don't think it is the same Luigi. They rebuilt him... faster, stronger, better.

I've called it before he even broke 400.

And then recanted it when it looked like Squall could make the comeback.

"No seriously, after one match, Xst fanboys spearheaded a movement that got everyone thinking that Tifa could win this match."

Oh, and this is a fallacy. I've been talking up the stats more than anyone else this contest, expecially since Kirby beat Tidus, and I'm pretty sure I never called Tifa > Sonic. Really, haters always come up with the worst side of things they can and ignore that it might not even be the consensus. Same with the Vincent haters. I'm sick and tired of haters.

*pats Kyle on the back*

If not for the fact that I've tossed back a couple I might be gloating, but... It was a good match, and Squall by no means looks like a chump. Just be happy that he didn't didn't roll over and die and that he didn't lose to a bad character (even if Vincent is by no means a favorite fo yours).

I'd loke to see Tifa come as close to Sonic as possible while not winning, as the stronger Luigi is the happier I am, but I think she'll struggle to break 45%. Sonic looks to be stronger than in years past, and Luigi probably isn't too far above 30%BL, if at all. After Crono and Mega Man have both let us down (well, Mega Man can still redeem himself), the pressure is on Sonic to keep impressing and make us completely forget about Jin.

ohh I like Vincent a lot.

I love FF7. Just not as much as I love 8.

I just hate that Squall now has a loss outside the noble nine. He has now lost a close match, and missed an opportunity to win a division.

I find the analysis crew underestimating Sonic here. Despite what Aeris did, Sonic should easily clear 55% on her.

What is the list of characters that have NEVER been defeated? eh?

Sorry, that should be, 'in any contest'. If we're talking about characters that have been in since 2002...

...no one?

Because in years since Aeris has lost stock with nominators. Strength =/= nominations, really. I mean, look at the difference between Vincent and Kerrigan. She out ranked him when I can't see him getting less than a 3 seed if ordered by strength (and probably deserves a 2 seed for strength and a 1 seed for this division) while she doesn't deserve better than an 8 seed. Sometimes the strongest characters get left in the dust because of fanatasim.

Yeah, for three contests it'll be no one, unless Squall can make the miracle comeback. He was the last one.

Ryu was our mainstay, but Bowser made short work of him.

I think he means characters that have won matches and haven't lost to anyone outside the N9... he's probably also looking for characters that have been in more than 1 contest. In otherwords he wants to know which near elites haven't lost to other near elites.

The two biggest mainstays will likely be Zero and Bowser, who have participated continously since 2003 and still only lost to NNers.

It would have been absolute devastation if we'd seen some of the matchups that we could concoct now based on the Nintendo increase. I mean, just think about matches like:

Auron v. Yoshi
Kirby v. Zero
Luigi v. Ryu
Tidus v. Donkey Kong

Bracket annhilation.

Auron and Tidus would both win, so those wouldn't be bracket busters, I don't think.

And I really wouldn't be surprised if Sonic has gone up. It certainly looks like Knux has.
