If it stays like this, I fear there will be mass stuffing on both sides as the match comes to a close. I'm already starting to think that Vincent is cheating, to be completely honest.

Cheating because of irregular vote updates or because of the fact that he simply shouldn't be beating Squall?

Likely the former. Vincent was the favorite coming into this match, after all (conventional wisdom that a DMC3'd Dante should > Knuckles).

Yeah, the biggest update will be the last one, I guarantee it if it is at like 50-50 towards the end... 1000 for each... heh.

The whole holding Squall at 400 is similar to the 'barriers' that Kefka had thanks to Romero.

The difference is that Squall's not making any real attempts to break through the barriers unlike Vercetti.
From: goku z | Posted: 9/10/2005 1:31:52 PM | Message Detail
I think so too, Ulti....not only does Vincent push Squall back every single time they go at it, but these are huge vote totals for a SFF match...

But hasn't Vincent always been irregular?

I remember people noting the same thing about him during his match with Dante and people blaming it on the fact that he's optional.
From: Karma Hunter | Posted: 9/10/2005 1:33:11 PM | Message Detail
Nah, we're still under Frog/Liquid, if only barely. Frog topped out at 460.

Hopefully Cjay is watching the Korean vote...

Yes, Vincent's match with Dante was also irregular, which is why I'm holding judgments on shenanigans. Still, the suspicion is perhaps warranted. I hope it's not, though.

I honestly think it's due to it being a weekend, so votes by the update will be erratic, rather than people on their normal schedules during the weekdays. I honestly don't think there will be enough votes during the night for Squall to comeback on, with it being Saturday and all. If I recall correctly, weekends are front-loaded as far as voting is concerned. He better start making his move now...

Now that I think about it, do you guys think that creativename should add a "total votes per update" column to the poll update? A minor detail, but it would be pretty convenient for pointing out irregularities....

Anyone believe that Squall might've had a small boost from CoM?
From: Karma Hunter | Posted: 9/10/2005 1:44:52 PM | Message Detail
Squall had a minor role in CoM compared to what he did in KH. I'd expect Cloud to gain more from CoM, actually.

Besides, I find it hard to believe CoM did much of anything. If it did, it should have made Sora stronger as well, and that makes Snake ungodly strong even for me.

Unless you want to believe Snake/Sora SFF...

*minor CoM spoilers*

Yeah, Squall was in Traverse Town, and he and Sora discover that the Leon there was just a memory of Sora's.

Cloud should have benefitted much more, as he's both usable and extremely abuseable for newbies.

A Snake fan should take that pic and replace Sora with random characters from the contest. That collection of pictures would actually be quite hilarious.

You can do the simple math in your head pretty easily. I don't think it's necessary.

Nah, I don't think being over 500 signifies the beginning of the night vote. Though I do find these trends odd, for BOTH Vincent and Squall.

Complete opposite of how it was going at 7:30 AM Eastern in which Squall was kicking Vincent's ass.
From: Tatsumaki Senpuu | Posted: 9/10/2005 2:10:55 PM | Message Detail
No, I mean that Vincent is being irregular as all hell.

...?

Vincent has not been that irregular, not any different than Squall has. Honestly, there is cheating in this match -- that's just blatant obvious -- but there isn't any to the degree that one character is seriously being helped more than the other here. This has been going on from the start.

Squall/Luigi rematch: who wins?

I'd pick Luigi for the possible upset. Squall has most likely gone down, while Luigi has gone way up.

Man, both of them really seem to be falling in the amount of votes their getting per update.
