tnote, hundreds of people can take credit for Frog winning that match. There was a TON of vote-stuffing in that final hour.

Oooh I am well aware of that. I am just bringing to light what you brought up, that there is vote-rallying. I participated in no vote-stuffing. If I can gather 12 votes without having to beg, there are no doubt many others out there doing the same thing.

And in Slow's defense on the Kefka one, nobody expected 1000+ cheat votes to be taken away.

Yeah, last time I did that it worked like a charm (to be fair, the board deserves a lot of credit for cleaning up their act while I was away).

Eh, a week or two away will do you some good. I'm guessing it's more than just the site causing you strife, anyway.

By the way, this match really makes me think about SFF between Square characters. Sometimes it happens (Cloud/Squall), but most of the time it doesn't.

It didn't happen because Squall and Vincent are so evenly matched.

19 vote gain for Squall! YES!

Squall needs more of those...

hopefully it becomes a trend.

But even in other matches, like Sephiroth/Vivi or Squall/Geno or Crono/Zidane, you could probably assume that SFF was very minimal.

Squall/Geno and Crono/Zidane didn't have SFF for a reason. I don't think new and old Square SFF one another.

And DK seems to suggest Sephiroth DID SFF Vivi, actually. Zelda just turned out to be a beast.

well it looks as though you just can't beat FF7 with another FF. i don't want to hear anymore Square wins all the time during the off season.it's just 5 strong characters from one game.

and why is link not hated like cloud? the way people say things you'd think that cloud won every tournament.

These contests bring out the worst in all of us, that much is obvious at this point. I think once the dust settles, I'll leave the rest of the board for one or two weeks and just drop by this topic on occasion (unless Leonhart starts his rookie rally thing at that time).

By the way, I realize when I say I suck at gaming, I really mean it. I spent hours upon hours in some of the later dungeons in ToS and my brother has no problem whatsoever with them. (To be fair, if I didn't tell him about the checkpoint near the first save point in the Temple of Darkness, he'd still be there.)

And the Darkness Temple is easy. I don't get why everyone whines about it.

I bet that Squall could take Aerith and Tifa. Vincent may be slightly weaker than those two, but Vincent has a larger fanbase overlap with Squall than those two, I am sure. I wouldn't hesitate to take Squall over Tifa and Aerith at this point.

Vincent, however, will be a force next year. I can see him taking out Mega Man.

It's not really tedious at all. Now Derris-Kharlan or that Soul Fire book dungeon thing or the Latheon Gorge, those are tedious.

The Darkness Temple is easy... as long as you figure out you don't need to collect the five fragments in one shot. Took me an eternity to figure that out, but once I did the rest was a piece of cake.

And I haven't beaten the game yet... I'm at the beginning of the dungeon below the Tower of Salvation, the one with all the plants. And before you ask, I spoke with Colette at Flanoir. I didn't want to take any chance with that.

Latheon Gorge. That place is just bad, though it has one of the best plot twists in any game ever.

Thing is, the first time I tried, I wanted to go out with the third one who'd knock to boost his affection. Colette knocked, I declined, Raine knocked, I declined. Then Kratos called, I stayed inside, then Genis basically FORCED me out (I had no choice this time). The way I'd heard about it, I just had to decline everything to get Kratos, but I couldn't decline Genis, so I thought I was headed straight for the Kratos path, so I reset and spoke with Colette.

Argh, might wanna keep the ToS spoilers down, I just borrowed the game from my friend, and I'm not too far into it yet. I rented it about a year ago, but never got the chance to buy it. It's an awesome game though. But the dungeons can get pretty tedious.

I have two copies of SH1. SH1 is a low-budget game, so the voice acting is absolutely miserable... but it's my favourite PS2 game. SH2 is much more accessible.
