Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 241
From: ChichiriMuyo | Posted: 9/10/2005 2:50:24 AM | Message Detail
"Flame me all you want but here's my take on Sonic in this:"

If there's an open invitation does that mean I can't be marked?

"Xstats go out of the window in that match."

Mario World/Sonic 2 would force me to put my money on Mario.

"But we'll see how badly Sonic can beat Tifa tomorrow"

Depends on your definition of a beating, I think she has more than a fair chance of outscoring Aeris in that match and anyone who disrespects someone of that level is asking for it.

"Big gain for Vincent, and this time it was Squall sucking that did it."

Squall sucking? Sounds 'bout right to me.

What happens when Bowser beats Snake, or at least make it close?

Seeing as how Bowser cracked 40% on Sephiroth, it seems probable that Snake was just that damn good.

yeeeeeeeeeowch. Squall's as close as he's been in almost two hours. this of course means that Vincent's about to rock him with the next update.

you actually meant argumenting? man, this gets better and better.

If you were using it, then it'd be great. Common sense doesn't say Sephiroth dropped by any means. Considering Frog he actually did pretty well on LS, as he should have really.

Oh of course. The common sense would be Sephiroth raising, with all those games that came out for him.

Did you not see Crono beat Mario last year? It's more than apparent that said "common sense" does not actually apply to the contest, isn't necesarily common, and isn't at all sensible since the evidence is against it.

Common sense doesn't apply to the contest, but you just said it would be nice if I'd be using it when all I talk about on this board is the contest.

But probably not for the reasons you think.

Are there any other possible reasons?

Ever heard of reading past the first post?

Actually I was defending you, which I had absolutely no idea why. But apparently you're way too dense to understand that, he said it was sarcasm because he only read the first post from Ulti, not your arguements after it, where it got "serious" I use the term loosely, because I have trouble thinking that any human being could actually think like that.

In sum, good job making the biggest ass out of yourself. Because you did a stupendous job.

Yeah, thank god the day vote will favor Vincent.

Oh, and for all those who argued with me on the matter... I told you there'd be approximately 0 SFF in this match.

I agree that there's minimal-no SFF in this, I was wondering about this myself. if there's minimal SFF in this, there should be minimal SFF in the Crono match as well hopefully, which means we'll actually get nice x-stat values.

But Snake would beat Sephiroth with 51.5% according to Snake - Sora. So Snake will be beating Bowser with +60%, right?

According to the 2k3 stats that's almost exactly how Mario vs. Sonic would go down, actually. With the shrooms he's been doing this year he wouldn't lose to Sonic.

Try extrapolating through constant Sora, not constant Alucard. Y'know, seeing as how according to you Alucard CAN'T be constant since Ganon dropped. -_-

and for whatever it's worth, I believe the more popular series has a better chance to SFF than the less popular series. therefore, I think Vincent would be better at "resisting SFF" than Squall would be. that's not to say Vincent would rSFF him (hi there, Samus/Ganon), but that its effects would be minimal.

Sure. That makes Snake 41.64% on base Link, 63.81% on 2k4 Bowser, and 58.23% on Spring 2k5 Bowser.

So what happens when Snake fails to meet these expectations?

Okay, my theory, Nintendo has recieved a MASSIVE boost across the boards, indicating a huge change in voter pool.

Alucard is extremely overranked in the x-stats, Sora while still doing good on him is also overrated, Snake boosted from MGS3, Snake rises to around 36-37 on BL. Yes, if this was any other year and Mario beat Samus, I would expect him to give Mario a run for it, but sadly, Mr. Mario has gained a ton. So there you have it. I tried to condense it into as few words as possible, since your attention span seems to be lacking.

Worst case scenario gives him a slight picture advantage, which should result in Bowser getting right around Zelda's percentage, a bit less. I expect that to happen.

And it's not exactly like Bowser couldn't have risen even from the Spring. Even using his Spring numbers, Ryu 'underperformed' on him.

I'm pegging Snake for about 35-36% myself. that was a pretty awesome picture he got, and while I don't think it made a huge difference, it might have made Sora look worse than he should have. Snake with 54% on Bowser, I say.

Alucard is extremely overranked in the x-stats

Why? Because it justifies Snake - Sora?

a while still doing good on him is also overrated

Why? For breaking 40% on Samus? For breaking 55% on Alucard when he was supposed to lose?

Snake boosted from MGS3, Snake rises to around 36-37 on BL. Yes, if this was any other year and Mario beat Samus, I would expect him to give Mario a run for it, but sadly, Mr. Mario has gained a ton. So there you have it.

36 on base link puts Sora at 25% on BL (losing from Tommy), and it puts Alucard under Bomberman.

I tried to condense it into as few words as possible, since your attention span seems to be lacking.

I think you condensed it into as few words as possible because you have nothing else to talk about.

If next round WAS a sprite round, which I doubt, or more or less hope doesn't occur, I'd think Samus would have the sprite advantage. And I love the MM picture, it might be my favorite of the contest.

Ryu wasn't exactly impressive against Rikku, I think it's likely that he's dropping.

Snake's best picture EVER making up for a half a percent to a percent or so? Yeah, that sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

That is, if it did do anything. I won't be surprised to see Bowser do worse than Zelda. Which is quite feasible.

Ryu wasn't exactly impressive against Rikku, I think it's likely that he's dropping.

But LOL what about all the new SF games and SFAC?!?
