Holy crap, MC's over 36% after almost losing to DK. Crono ain't winning this thing.

But he
will beat Bowser.

Hmm, does the Slow curse work before the match has started? 'Cuz that would be really sweet for my bracket.

For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to refer to Gordon Freeman versus Tanner as Schrodinger's Match. -Phoenix Flattener
From: Sir Crono | Posted: 9/9/2005 2:40:39 PM | Message Detail
Based on a stable Crono, Master Chief currently falls at 28.81% on Link, and rising. He's looking to pass his unadjusted 20XX value from last year.

Good God, is it that hard to believe DK got stronger after everyone else on Nintendo has gotten stronger?

Yes. It's too hard to see him as something other than the choker of the century. Kind of like how it would be hard to break from GFNW

A Nintendo boost isin't going to suddenly make Nintendo fans like DK. He'll always be the weakest big Nintendo character.
From: Karma Hunter | Posted: 9/9/2005 2:44:06 PM | Message Detail
And yet, if Mega Man ends up beating Sonic and performing decently, then we may have to break from GFNW too...this contest is too weird.

I wonder...if Halo had been the killer app for, say, Gamecube, how strong would MC be?

Well, look at it like this.

Fisher had a new game, and it might have helped him more than it looked like in his match.

DK is a part of the Nintendo boost, so he also jumps up a couple of percent.

Master Chief has Halo 2 now, so it's possible he has boosted.

And it's all coming together now. Chief's fourpack was slightly underrated.

CATS, is well, CATS.

I dunno if Halo would've been as big of a deal if it hadn't been the only big game XBox had. Microsoft pushed it with all they had.

Devil Division Final: (5)Vincent Valentine
From: Karma Hunter | Posted: 9/9/2005 2:52:09 PM | Message Detail
I'm not talking about the logistics of it being second/third party or whatever, just if it had been the 'killer app'. Imagine Nintendo producing it first party as the must-have game (for whatever reason, let's say they've gone crazy), and they push it with all they have.

Basically, just trying to get a sense of where MC is with more of a base behind him and without massive anti-votes.

eh, you could call CT the "killer app" for the SNES, at least according to the game contest.

but not today, definitely not. I haven't seen a major cube game that wasn't made by Nintendo in a long time. the only one that comes close is TOS, unless I'm forgetting something.

And the master of the day vote is Link.

He's more the master of the morning vote; he was getting about 53 - 55% per update against Cloud during that period. He wasn't quite as strong as that during the day vote. I wouldn't be all that surprised if MC were able to bring the percentage down a smidge during the day, if they ever faced.

Squall of course. I expect the background to be taken from one of the FFVIII FMVs. Maybe from the duel with Seifer from the beginning. There isn't really one background that defines FFVIII like there is for other games.

If the 8 seed beats out the 1 seed in the NCAA, they don't get to have HFA for the rest of the tournament for winning. I'm guessing that's how it works here as well.

There is no home field advantage in March Madness other than proximity, and that is not HFA by any means.

You mean in pro sports.

No. Squall WILL get the home field advantage. Look at Bison/Diablo from the Spring Contest... If that were the case, Diablo would have gotten the advantage for beating Ridley...

Winner.

MC is doin' very nice; I didn't have a single ounce of hope for him breaking 35% after MC/DK, and look at him now. Here's to hopin' he keeps it up.

I've noticed something. Why has there been a board-wide dismissal of Mega Man? He's not even being mentioned as a threat to Sonic, let alone the top the rest of the top tier. Some people even think that Yoshi may potentially upset him. I've even seen a couple of people say Snake would beat him for a rematch...

What's up with all of that?

Well, unless Freeman jumped like a bunny on steroids, Mega isn't looking to hot right now.

He'll probably underperform against Yoshi too, but for now, I'm still saying he can beat Sonic.

Basically, it's because he's looked like trash in two of his last three matches (Link and Leon), whereas Sonic actually looked good last round. I still think that match is up in the air, but based on round 2 you'd have to take Sonic. (MM did look better than Sonic in round 1, though).

The thing is that Sonic's bad performance was on an unknown. Whereas Megaman's bad performance is linked to the most infamous loser in the contest.
