I wouldn't be surprised to see Crono end up where his 2K3 value would suggest.

Master Chief has had very uninspiring performances in the first two rounds. I wouldn't call Crono's performance today a disappointment just yet, but with the after school vote assuredly going to Master Chief, I probably will soon.

It definitely seems like more and more of the GameFAQs faithful have warmed up to the Xbox in the past 12 months. Also, while the signs aren't pointing to a significant boost from Halo 2, I absolutely refuse to believe it did nothing. Regardless of what GameFAQs generally likes or dislikes, this was still the most hyped game since Super Mario Bros. 3, and the sales were massive.

At this point, Crono is basically right on point between his 2003 and 2004 performances. Which is, quite frankly, most likely enough to do what he was expected to do all along. Go to the finals and lose.

I would compare it to HL and HL2 but I realized that's a bad comparison.

I've been stressing that for the longest. An increase in popularity doesn't mean that a person will automatically put MC over their other favorites. It just means that they will vote him over the lesser opponents. That's why I never judge a character by how they blow out lesser opponents. Most of the time we've seen that, the character still snuggly fit in around where they should (again, Samus and Mega Man from last year. Most likely Tifa this year, etc.)

Sonic still has to deal with Tifa and Mega Man--who while don't look as serious as they once were, are still legitimate threats that have to be dealt with before he even thinks about challenging the character that beat Mario 53/47 last year.

I think if it happens, Crono/Vincent and Sonic/Tifa will give us a rough comparison on how strong each is compared to the other.

It isn't as much as Master Chief being good with the day vote as it is him sucking with the night vote. With the majority of his fans voting in the daytime, thus that being where his strength is most represented, he will most likely gain percentage on anybody come his day vote.
