Oh, you're not alone by a longshot. Bowser > Snake was one of the sexiest upset picks by this board. But most who took it were expecting a fully powered Sp2k5 Bowser against a completely dead 2k4 Snake. Snake doesn't look dead.

and I say you're right. it was looking like a poker game between Bowser and Snake - Snake beats up Zelda, Bowser beats up Ryu even worse, Snake destroys Sora.. and then Bowser just couldn't match. still, it should be at least as close as Zelda was.

I'm still not seeing these signs, and I'm looking for them. Heck, I guess if Zelda's the same as in 2003, Snake looks stable from 2004, but it makes Sora and Alucard look pathetic. And after seeing Link and Ganondorf benefit from increases, I dunno why Zelda wouldn't. Heck, Sora and Vivi are pretty close in 2004 if you adjust Vivi by DK, and they still seem to be pretty close.

And yeah, Bowser beat Ryu by less than 2% more than Snake did in his strongest year, but he surely doesn't look to be as strong now as he was then, especially after seeing what Kirby's doing here.

Zelda was most likely stronger than Ganondorf in 2k3 considering that Magus and everyone else in that four pack looks like crap now. Now give her the boost that Ganondorf's gotten since then. I would take Zelda over Bowser without thinking twice.
