We shouldn't--but looking at how Frog's fourpack was overrated, her numbers don't look as impressive.

Why are we assuming that Samus didnt increase like.... well like everyone else.

For comparison purposes, I would prefer not to throw some arbitrary boost to Samus. That, after all, was just comparing how Mario would do based on a constant Samus and Sephiroth.

Just for the record, here's what Samus was projected to get on Frog:

Unadjusted 2004: 66%
SFF-Adjusted 2004: 62%

Now, if you believe (like many of us do) that either of these extrapolated rankings overrate the Frog/Chief/Liquid trio, then Samus's 70% on Frog isn't as impressive as what Mario is doing today.

I figured he'd be doing a bit better with the day vote (as in... he'd still be increasing), and since there's no after school vote today, he'll probably lose percentage for the rest of the day.

Well...Mario champ is in fact looking more likely today than ever. Guess its only fitting for the first 4 champs to be the only characters who've been to the Finals before...

Well...I still think Crono will give him a fight in the finals.

I wonder how many brackets would get it right if Samus were to beat Mario, Crono AND Sephiroth... probably not many.

BOP numbers for the curious:

1 Mario Mario 150
3 Zero 2

1 Samus Aran 151
3 Ganondorf Dragmire 1

1 Samus Aran 104
1 Mario Mario 48

1 Samus Aran 103
1 Mario Mario 48
1 Solid Snake 1

1 Samus Aran 87
2 Crono 39
1 Mario Mario 16
1 Megaman 7
1 Sonic the Hedgehog 2
1 Solid Snake 1

0 Sephiroth 134
1 Samus Aran 15
2 Crono 2
1 Mario Mario 1

And no one has either Mario or Samus winning the ToC.

I can't wait for tonight. I'm not sure if many people are aware of this, but other than her match with Link in 2003, Samus has never faced a Nintendo character. It's make or break time for Ms. Aran, and she's up against a guy who's notorious for his recent strength and for being on the receiving end of the biggest SFF thrashing in history. Should make for a damn interesting match.

That'd be a 9.87% prediction percentage for the board, which hugely favors Samus compared to the others. It may very well be the lowest prediction percentage ever.

That's interesting, abotu Samus. I realized that this morning. I'm expecting some SFF, but none of Link-propotions.

It's one of the main things that gives me confidence in Mario. Link is the god of SFF on this site. Mario has used SFF to pummel Donkey Kong, Captain Olimar, Bowser, and Ness. Minus the Link match, Samus is completely untested and unproven against her kin. If she breaks 70%, I'll be worried. If she barely cracks 60%, it's as good as done.

But Ganondorf holds some serious power. Samus is from a less popular series, so I think SFF can be averted here. Sure, Link SFFed Yoshi, but the gap is much larger between these two than between Samus and Ganondorf to begin with.

I think that's also the same with Ganondorf, now that I think about it. (Except Link in 2004, and I don't know if Gigyas counts)

Needless to say, SFF is sure going to be interesting here.

Yeah, it looks like any potential threat is quickly shot down. Wonder if Bowser'll be struck by that curse too...

Oh, and I wonder if Ganondorf having big casual bracket support tomorrow could play a slight role. As I said, I'm not expecting too much SFF, if at all.

I think Ganon'll do about how Frog did last round against Samus; I expect a decent amount of SFF, but nothing monsterous like Link/Ganon (a complete embarrassment for Ganon).

Heh, just for interest, LoZ:LttP SFF'd Super Metroid LoZ:WW might have had minimal SFF go its way against Metroid Prime. It's argued that Link got a lil' SFF against Samus in 2k3, too...it could be possible that Ganon gets SFF'd next-to-none tomorrow, even if he did get tore up by Link. I'm not gonna put alot of stock in that idea though.

Yes, there will be SFF in the Samus/Ganondorf match that will make the latter look bad. That we can expect.
