And I know this round seems to dull with 7 (Mario/Zero, Samus/'Dorf, Snake/Sora, Bowser/Kirby, MC/Crono, Sonic/Tifa, and MegaMan/Yoshi) not in doubt. But from here to the end of the tournament we have Mario/Samus, Snake/Bowser, Sonic/MM, Crono/Sonic-MM, Ma-Sam/MM-Cr-So, Sephiroth/Winner, and Link/Cloud. Thats 7 out of the last 10 matches that are good matches.

I dont even think TJF can save Tifa. There is too much distance between Sonic and Tifa. And they wont be using artwork, which cuts down on TJF significantly.

Actually sprites would work better for next round. 7 out of the 8 Elite Eight characters will have been from series starting in the NES/SNES generations. Only Squall/Vincent will not.

I don't know about that. Every projected winner in this round has a usable sprite other than Vincent (I think?) and his assuredly ugly in-game pic will be just as good. In fact, if Squall wins, everyone will have a sprite. CJayC may just be saving them for later.
