But the final stats for this contest should indeed look very different from last year. I would imagine if most characters end up as strong as their showing, it'd make previous years look a little ridiculous.

So I wake up to Mario pasting Zero with over 62%, and seeing a Tifa/Sonic match picture that made me go 'wow, moderately attractive cos-players who aren't getting paid to model them?' I mean, doesn't hold a candle to my friend who dressed up as Rikku two years ago for Halloween, but it is a start.

And I fully expect Samus to at least double Ganon tomorrow, as the villainous gentleman is an absolute pig when fanbasing overlap...

Pics don't matter that much, save for CT sprites overperforming. And why the hell is that the case, anyway?

But yeah, even if you want to say it's an unfair pic, Mario is the higher seed. Ceej has always done it that way. And on that note, where are the actual round 3 pics? I can't find them.

Here's the thing though Ulti. The Xstats has been off more often than not in this year's contest. However when people strongly suggest Mario > Samus or Sonic > Megaman, they are still relying on the xstats to bolster their arguments. Isn't it possible that 2005 is a whole new ballgame and that the character's strengths are still up in the air?

Well typically Zero's pictures are amazing. I'm not a Zero fan at all, but I can't deny that he looks awesome. In this case, Mario looks far more badass than usual, and Zero looks like total crap, almost as bad as lettuce Kefka.

By the way, the most impressive thing about this match pic is Zero's shadow. Mario's is easy enough to do, but I don't recall Zero having an MMX8 shadow that just so happens to fall in line with the necessary shadow for Mario 64. Good job by Ceej on that one.

I meant using the xstats combined with the current results of the contest. I've seen several people trying to calculate what character would get in a match based on that information.
