I like Yoshi more than Pacman, Yoshi's been my character as early as I guess MK64. I actually used Luigi in SMK.

Honestly, people who are saying this is ludicrous...Please explain to me why you now think Yoshi would beat Bowser, and why you think Laharl would give Pac-Man and Ocelot all they could handle.

I don't think Yoshi would beat Bowser, and I'm surprised no one's really mentioned that god awful picture Ocelot had. That picture was a disgrace, and ocelot was never a behemoth anyway. I'm not a huge fan of picture factor, but ocelot isn't someone like Solid Snake that you'll absolutely recognize from name alone. And what's to say that the Bowser performance wasn't the fluke, and the pacman performance the normal one?

But when he goes up against someone just as well known as he is, and someone who is liked MORE than him, like Luigi or Yoshi, he collapses. I don't see anything wrong with that happening.

That sounds awfully close to just being a fairly weak character though. I mean you vote for them if you don't like the other character, and if you do like the other character, you vote for them instead. Isn't that how basically any match works?

And also back to the Bowser problem with Yoshi doing this well. It's also been suggested a few times that higher vote totals would boost certain characters more than others. Perhaps it was better for Ocelot when there were lower vote totals because not as many casuals were voting for Bowser.

However, after I wrote my little explanations, I read through the pacman sff reasons again, and they seem pretty reasonable, but I wouldn't expect it to count for much.

And anyone who talks about SM64DS...EVERY SINGLE SUPER MARIO ADVANCE GAME OUTSOLD IT. Hell, a couple of them more than doubled it. SM64DS was not a huge deal.

But it was a new system...and a very popular remake of a very popular game. That does count for something. I think the DS being the instigator behind these boosts is a valid thing, because think about it, with the Ds, more people are coming to Nintendo faqs. It might not be all the boost, but it's an idea.

After seeing what Magus did with a sprite, I'd be more inclined to say it was more Frog than Snake. Sora will not be overrated at all even if Snake gets that sprite. You can take that to the bank.

The other common theory is that CT characters do better with sprites. It explains Magus' overperformance on Link, and Frog's on Solid Snake. It also didn't hurt that they were up against Bible Link and Solid ****, of course.

TheCubeStud, it's highly doubtful that a picture will make the difference in Bowser/Snake, especially since it won't even likely be the sprite round. And you won't catapult up the standings, either--certainly not over most of Board 8. Bowser over Snake is a *very* trendy upset pick here.
