And you were right the first time, when we same-time posted. Lloyd/Wesker was lower than Zero/Lloyd.
Actually, I was amending Mario/Ness being the lowest scoring bout of the second round. Lloyd/Wesker is the lowest thus far, and Lloyd/Zero is the worst totals we've seen this round.

47% for Luigi, eh? Impressive. And he's still winning occasional updates, too.
Now the question is: Where is Luigi now? It's anybody's guess, but he certainly doesn't look as low as his 2003 value suggests (unless you think Tifa would have a hard time with Master Chief).

I'd say that the vote margin is keeping pretty steady so far. Tifa is
increasing the lead by very small (less than 50 votes) practically
every update. Luigi is keeping her in range but has no chance of a
comeback at this point.

Sonic beat Aeris 53-47 two years ago, so he have some measurement on
supporting FF7 characters in relation to Sonic. Granted it's two years
old and a lot has changed, but Tifa simply isn't doing well enough on
Luigi to place her substantially over Aeris 2K3 (which she would need).

Not really there's still the outside chance of her winning by 52%, but
then again Sonic also has an outside chance to double her.

At this point, unless Bowser/Yoshi/Luigi are all the same strength and
only SFF separates them (which there's a lot of counter evidence for)
or TJF is very, very real, Sonic will beat Tifa easily.

well, if Tifa = Aeris 2k3, then Luigi's at almost 31%, really close to Squall's 2k3 number. most impressive.
question: for people who think Mario/Shadow was a substitute for Mario/Sonic, what would Luigi/Sonic be like?

Wario from getting slaughtered by Shadow though.

Tifa's still sucking...teehee.
Go Luigi though. Now he's over 47%, which is awesome. Looks like Aeris might keep her reign as the 3rd strongest FF character.
And ouch, Sonic had less than 70% of the brackets. Not as embarrassing as Crono, but still pretty bad.

well the strong characters seem to get bad bracket support. now that
doesn't make any sense. a casual bracket maker ought to have decent
knowledge.

She just doens't get the nominations. Zelda is also strong but she
missed last year. Shadow is no fodder and he's nowhere to be seen. Tifa
and Vincent are both looking ot be in the same neighborhood as Aeris
(at least) and it took until this year for them to get in. Strength
does not equate to nominations, clearly.

*spoilers for ff7*
I'll try to be vague in case somebody skipped my spoilers warning for some reason, but I'm playing through it for the first time right now (well beating the game for the first time rather, I played it before but didn't bother finishing disc 1), and can honestly say that I'm baffled why she's liked by so many people. Up until the spoiler she didn't show very much personality and seemed to serve as a plot device more then a party member. Her limit breaks were good though, I guess. I just got to the part where tifa and cloud join back up, and there are much, much better characters then her in the game that haven't so much as made it in. RedXiii and cid come to mind.

Well, for one there was a cap so Tanner made it over a lot of more deserving characters.
Second, everyone thought in 2k4 that she was a lock based on past performance. We gamed her rigth of the contest. There's no way in the world she got beat out by a scrub of those proportions this time and If not for 4 characters from the same game stealing her noms she'd be in.
