Heh, I consider it my main contribution to the CS&D topics, even if it's still debatable.

oh, my best contribution had been to make everyone feel better by
having the worst bracket possible... and then Lopen beat me by about 50
points. sucks for me!

Arbiter is the Elite you control in Halo 2 for several levels. I wanted
to have HBO link to a Master Chief match, but he was already
eliminated, so I had to settle for Arbiter. My point for the experiment
was to see how many people HBO attracted for the MC/Frog match. Notice
how many people came to vote Arbiter over Mega Man...I would bet many
more would vote MC over Frog, especially if the poll stayed up all day
like MC/Frog did.

*SPOILERS*
Arbiter is from Halo 2. He's an ex-Covanent Elite converted into the Arbiter after being given a second chance for his failure of letting Master Chief destroy the first Halo. He actually is a playable character in Halo 2.

especially since the link today was put up much later than the rest of

Who impressed you more this round, Snake or Sonic?
I'd say Sonic. He totally waxed Diablo and proved he belonged in the Noble Nine, even looking strong enough to take on Crono. Snake's performance is nothing to sneeze at either. Even with all the momentum against him, he still won with nearly 55%. Sonic looked better, though IMO.

Considering Sonic's acting like Crono here today, I'd say he's more
impressive. Snake did well by winning when he had a lot to lose, but
still, it wasn't dominant like this.

definitely Snake. Sonic was never remotely feared to lose his match, while Snake looked poised to crash and burn.
also, Harrich - did the people on GFA know about your little experiment beforehand, or did you surprise them with it?

Surprised 'em as best as I could, but it wasn't long after the link was up that Master Moltar started explainin' it was an experiment from our crew. To my knowledge though, aside from maybe Moltar, nobody knew before-hand.

For Snake's part, he had a ton of the people here out for his blood and
calling for his downfall. Not only that, but he got hit with one of the
worst pictures he's ever received, even for him--Solid ****-esque. For
him not only to beat Zelda, but decisively, and do so to make him look
as strong as Mario from an adjusted Vivi, is no small feat.
But while Sonic was never in danger of losing this match, he had a lot to prove. Tifa put up Samus-like numbers using a constant Vyse. Sonic did far worse than the board expected him to on Jin, and even now people are still out for his blood even more than they were for Snake's. So, what does he do? He goes out next round and CREAMS Diablo, so much that it looks like he could be a threat to Crono--and he may actually be stronger than he appears, as Diablo's final value is derived from Ganondorf, in a match where he was not linked. For whatever span of time, he *is* linked in this match. Tifa has to prove that her win against Vyse was no fluke, or she's dead.
Sonic was more impressive, by far.
---
Only the Snake is the true hero. Solid Snake to the Final Four!

I'm also gonna side with Sonic, for the sole reason that there's alot
less of margin for error between losing to Tifa and beating Crono right
now. Solid may get to the Final Four, but he stops at
Mario/Samus...period.

I don't recall seeing stats for the last two divisions, so I'll do them...
Flood Division: Upper half
Master Chief - 50.00%
Donkey Kong - 49.21%
Sam Fisher - 34.68%
CATS - 31.17%
Flood Division: Lower Half
Crono - 50.00%
Tommy Vercetti - 29.15%
Kefka - 28.48%
Zidane Tribal - 23.28%
Devil Division: Upper Half
Vincent Valentine - 50.00%
Dante - 46.00%
Terra Branford - 26.22%
Sarah Kerrigan - 21.00%
Devil Division: Lower Half
Squall Leonhart - 50.00%
Knuckles the Echidna - 46.20%
Magus - 45.40%
Geno - 25.16%
For the record, Kefka would be expected to get 59.12% on Zidane. Terra would get almost exactly 60% against Kerrigan. Magus would get 72.29% on Geno. That's just to give you an idea of the disparity from 3rd to 4th.

I don't think the SFF between Crono/Zidane is anything severe... no
more than 5%. I'd place Zidane somewhere between Kefka and Viewtiful
Joe myself. I don't see anybody under Viewtiful Joe in 2k4 being able
to beat Zidane... He may even be able to give Kefka a match.
...How exactly would you go about doing that?
I always wondered how Sp2k4 was "adjusted" for SFF myself...

i seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt there was any significant SFF in Zidane

just doesn't make sense.
