Okay then next time I will have in my bracket everything that is from FF7,even if it is a Chocobo.

Something tells me that the best Knuckles will be able to manage is to go 50-50 during the day vote. It would be cool to see Squall win by less than 2000 votes, though.

And 25% of the brackets shocked the hell out of me. I never even bothered to have an beforehand, but I didn't ever imagine it would be that low.

Crono > MC alone is gonna cause hell; MC and DK both have been known to be over-estimated before, and CATS is there too to take some more favorites/joke-brackets than the average character, too. Crono to the finals would be insane.

not I.

MC should ruin brackets, yeah, but at least 25% should have taken Crono. it's not like he's an unknown like Vincent is, after all. Crono's got some of the most famous matches in contest history.

I wonder who the bracket favourite to get to the finals on that side is? Sonic?

anyway, 8am seems like a good time for bed. nite yall.

56% before the day vote, huh? Looks like Squall's slipping on every leftover banana peel DK left behind. Can't wait for Vincent/Squall.

And 25.14%? No, seriously. When did people stop picking FF7 altogether? Just goes to show bracket-voting isn't all that important, and if Mario beats Samus, it's not going to be because of it.

Well, Moltar does have Squall at 52%, so if the day vote is unkind to Mr. Leonhart he should be able to take the point.

The problem is, the two matches so far this week stayed within half a percent all day long, so we can't tell if the afterschool effect begins this week. But if it does, either nothing at all will happen, or Squall will get brutalized later on.

i honestly think that Dante has more brackets with him winning the division than either Vincent or Squall. after he took the initial lead this morning, i bet that Vincent is technically the upset among the casuals.

told ya Dante would be the favorite over Vincent. he probably was also the favorite to take the division, too.

and just to be aware - right now (9:00 AM EST) is about the same time that Knuckles started to really push against Magus. he could win at least an update or two in the morning vote here. i doubt he will cut into Squall's lead much, but he could.

Knux should have over 45% by the time I leave for work in an hour. When I check on my lunch break a few hours from now, he will probably have 46%, and when I get back from work a little after the halfway point, he should be approaching 47%.

For those paying attention, there is no clearer indication that Squall will win this division than by today's results.

It's not about a percentage; it is about beating a character that everyone considered 'the most popular sidekick' in these contests could not beat. Clearly, that is not true, as Knux himself is a sidekick. The point is Vincent is gonna get SFFed something fierce (assuming Squall holds on to win), and I will be floored if Squall does not break 55% on Vincent next round.

In a division filled with sidekicks, the hero Squall shall reign supreme.

Oh, You're predicting SFF.

Maybe. But it's a little inconclusive....

Usually when characters are equally matched in the standings, it would take something fierce for enough of that to make a huge difference. Maybe with Nintendo characters but Square has shown that they're a little better with it unless when pitted against Cloud.

We'll call my SFF for Vincent/Squall the Square pecking order SFF.

Heroes > Villains & Sidekicks

The only villain worth a damn is Sephiroth, as Lavos, Kuja, Ultros, Sin, Ansem and Kefka are all crap. The casual voter will like Square, and as such will know both Vincent and Squall. However, the casual voter will normally be drawn more to the lead protagonist than they will the sidekick. Especially when said sidekick was a sidequest acquisiton, and backed by only one-quarter of the bracketeers to get past Dante.

And the reason I listed all the sucky villains is just merely to explain why I did not rank how SFF would go in a villain/sidekick match-up.

Goin' off of a constant Dante and 20XXF-adjusted Knuckles (who currently has 45.04% on Squall)...

Vincent - 27.71% on Link 2k4
Squall - 27.69% on Link 2k4

...now, if Knuckles keeps goin' up (and keep in mind his day-vote hasn't started yet), that makes Squall look worse. If Mega Man didn't deserve the full 20XXF-adjustment he got against Link, that makes Squall look worse. If Cloud/Squall or Aeris/Sora is a sign of Vincent/Squall, that makes Squall look worse. If DMC3 helped Dante at all, that makes Vincent look better.

Not necessarily are all those true, but right now it's lookin' like Squall is still not goin' to be the favorite next round, even though they're damn near statistical twins right now.

Possibly. The point is that their standings are too close to call a winner based on stats no matter how you arrange it. Unless you want to put Knuckles at Magus's 2K3 level >_<

You gotta go with your gut on this one. Just like Heroic Viktor just did.
