I can see the match being close, or I can see Vincent slaughtering Dante. But I wouldn't put too much stock into either event. Vincent could curbstomp all the competition into next year on his way to the Elite Eight--I'm still going to consider Crono the favorite against him. Same way Sonic is the favorite against Tifa, and Snake the favorite against Bowser. They're not the *statistical* favorites by any means, but I have a hard time seeing them lose to the opposition before them.

Assuming Dante goes up to 30% on BL due to DMC3, someone with 40% on BL will get 62.5% on him.

40% is a bit too high for Vincent, but then again 16.8% for Kerrigan isn't.

Vincent should, by all means, beat Dante (and probably comfortably)...but doubling is almost certainly not happening; I see 65% being Vincent's ceiling, tops. I'm figuring 61%, myself.

Heh, this contest rules now that I take a lil' closer look; before the contest, I don't think ANYBODY (Board 8 or otherwise) would have thought that Magus/Knuckles and MC/DK would be our two closest matches thus far. Gotta love it.

I disagree. I actually have this odd feeling Link is still athis 2k4 level and that many of the upper characters will have gianed some ground on him. I can see 4+ characters breaking 40% easily. Oh, and don't expect Dante to go up that much, I don't see DMC3 doing much of anything at all fo rhim, sadly.

hey guys, just got home. I see that the day vote continued as expected. a 3400+ vote comeback... that's pretty damn good. MC always gets the weak day vote characters, it's great. it makes him look even better at the day vote than he is.

while I think Vincent is the heavy favourite to win, I wouldn't dare try to guess a percentage. we just don't know anything about him at all. 56-57% seems like a safe pick.

Heh, I just got to lookin'...assuming a steady DK from 2k3 to 2k5, Vercetti would get 49.74% on MC. Using solely 2k3 stats, Vercetti would get 48.91% on MC. It'll be interesting to see how Vercetti and MC compare against Crono tomorrow and next round; expect them to be similar.

MC should be ahead of Vercetti without difficulty. 25% is the ceiling for Vercetti, and I highly doubt he's still there; I thought he'd dropped even before the Kefka match. 25% is probably a floor for MC, and he might be higher if DK really has increased a bit.

Let's put it this way. I don't think DK would struggle overly much with Kefka or Pac-Man.

Then again though, Face-CATS predicts MC rather well. If MC's predicted well by Face-CATS, then DK couldn't have gained that much...and he already did around what was expected of him against Fisher. MC couldn't have moved too much...if there's a 5%-gap between him and Vercetti against Crono, it'll be because of Vercetti dropping (which I doubt will be much of a drop).
