SF2 didn't choke, it's fans were just delusional about it's chances on a site that loves Nintendo, Square, and RPGs.

Donkey Kong had a lead of over 3000 votes during the match with Duck Hunt. DK won by just under 200 at the end. And StarCraft/Wind Waker was a much bigger upset than SC/Halo, and has the largest successful comeback in contest history.

I actually figured Fisher was gonna gain this year due to Chaos Theory gettin' alot more attention, from the commercials to reviews to the side-ads on GameFAQs. Not alot, per say, but between that and me thinkin' Riku was gonna be weak, I likely would have been pretty torn.

I'm very impressed with DK's performance, but with the way MC's taking off votes here, I don't think he'll end up winning.

...Who said they'd take Master Chief over Solid Snake this year after the 2004 contest? Come on, show yourselves! It's not quite as satisfying as those who said Magus would beat Sonic but still.

We really need DK/Frog next year. That match would seriously be decided by like 1 vote.

Well, I saw people the day before the match thinking that Frog would get 60-65% on Riku. I really thought he'd break 40% with ease, though he still shocked me with how much he actually got.

I think people were still looking at Ansem and thinking Riku would be weak, but that was a different situation.
