Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 220
From: Lopen | Posted: 8/28/2005 11:23:53 AM | Message Detail
I think whoever wins this match will surprise against Crono. Not to the point of actually being anywhere close to winning the match, but getting a much higher % than this board expects.
From: The n00b Avenger | Posted: 8/28/2005 11:24:36 AM | Message Detail
Yeah. They may even get 2 or 3 more % than Vercetti.

Yeah. They may even get 2 or 3 more % than Vercetti.

Vercetti probably was hurt a bit by San Andreas, if Kefka's any indication.

DK easily.
From: Lopen | Posted: 8/28/2005 11:28:33 AM | Message Detail
If only DK had a close match with Fisher (or MC with CATS... oh yeah!). The winner here would get like 48% against Crono... heh.

But when I say "better than expected", I mean breaking 40%. Yeah, word.
---
The stats would kick you in the face.
From: Heroic Viktor | Posted: 8/28/2005 11:28:39 AM | Message Detail
I pick Frog, but I am biased as hell.

And sadly, the Xbox day vote will be ending soon, and MC hasn't even shaved 500 votes off.

Ending? Most times, the Xbox vote comes in about 20 minutes. Granted, most of those times were school-days, but I wouldn't say MC's chances are over yet, especially when DK is no Frog at night.

So? Does that mean they all vote early? Not at all. If anything it just means that the votes will be more spread out through the day. The "X-Box day vote" won't be ending for quite some time, and I still expect huge Master Chief surges around midday in spite of no school.
---
How crazy is that? MC/DK with 40% on Crono?
From: Applekidjosh | Posted: 8/28/2005 11:34:46 AM | Message Detail
So with Bowser's spring level apparently intact, does that mean Mario has increased proportionately? I remember in spring people were saying the stats made no sense cause they put Bowser above Mario... but if Mario has really gone up enough to compensate for that, then maybe he can beat Samus?
---

Correct, yet MC's still been shaving away on DK. MC's still lookin' capable to win this, though it's certainly not guaranteed.

Anybody who now considers Mario > Samus an impossibility is being delusional. I'm still stickin' with Samus, but Mario's lookin' great by Bowser/Luigi/Yoshi doin' better than expected...it doesn't hurt that he's responsible for making Joanna, Ness, and CJ look like fodder too, heh.

I said if that were even the case. I think you people are putting too much faith into school getting out, and Master Chief's strongest time should still be in that time frame regardless.

And holy ****, Master Chief really does make my claim seem to have water. Nearly an entire 100 off there.

How convenient, it's starting about 10 minutes before it did against Frog. All signs point to this having little to do with an "after school" vote. Coincidence? I think not.

On a weekend without school? The North Americaners have already been awake for a while.

The votes pretty much followed our expected patterns throughout the first 20 or so matches when there was no school for most of GameFAQs, so I don't see why they wouldn't here.

From: HaRRicH | Posted: 8/28/2005 11:58:46 AM | Message Detail
Ya know, I rreeaallllyy wish again that CJay would have switched Fisher and Frog. DK/Frog would have been a real good match, and we'd get either a very close rematch or this match...couldn't go wrong with that, really.

Plus, Riku/Fiher probably would have screwed up some of the board, too (I'd say I would have fell for it, for example), instead of the board acing Riku/Frog.

They don't choke. They're just chumps.

DK and Chief, however, have been in countless close and/or debated matches and lost every single time, except against Aya. And let's not even bring up Felix...
