I'm just wondering, how come Tifa is an absolute cert to beat Luigi despite the increased performance of Nintendo characters in the contest? I have him in my bracket but the consensus is that there's not even a 0.001% chance of him winning. Oh well....

Well, unless Luigi really IS as strong as his performance against KOS-MOS suggests, he likely doesn't have a chance. I'd love to see it happen, but losing 60/40 to Squall doesn't inspire a load of confidence.

Well, after watching Ryu bomb against Bowser, KOS-MOS could be weaker than the stats suggest. Luigi's performance doesn't look as impressive to me anymore. Not to mention Tifa performed only 3% worse than Cloud on Vyse.

I think some people are blowing this Nintendo boost out of proportion.

In my opinion, yes there definitely appears to be a boost among all SSB:M characters, but I think it only really affects those who were in mid to lower tiers of performance. I mean, there's only so much the one's who are already the cream of the crop can climb anymore. So I think its more of the lower characters starting to catch up.


As for Tifa, Luigi could always pull off the upset. But really, the power of FF7 in this site is undeniable. Its really the only other thing that comes toe to toe with Ninty in these things...
