Oh yeah, Dk will make it rather close. I don't know why tomorrow's
match isn't counted as part of the gauntlet but chances are Dk will
make the people who counted him out regret it. Gauntlet pt 6 tomorrow,

I've actually been thinking about the pic factor a lot, and I'm
starting to think it doesn't make much of a difference -- 1 or 2
percent, tops. My reasoning for this is the Spring 2004 Contest. Some
of those pictures were nothing more than character pics (and some were
downright horrid), yet it didn't really cause any wild swings in any of
the matches. I think people vote for the names, not the pics.

I don't think it's that Snake was unrecognizable against Frog, but that he was recognizable and ugly. Since Snake looked, to some extent, badass (though nothing like himself), he still did decently.

Look at Starcraft vs Kingdom Hearts. Do you really think Starcraft
wins if you rename the header to "Character Battle X", use the exact
same match picture and make the choices Queen and Sora? Come on.
Nah, that's clearly not the only factor. However, it's sort of unfair to compare games with characters in the first place.
