It's just confusing... we're dealing with a little guy who lost to Jill Valentine three years ago, and now he's dangerously close to the upper tiers.

Again, there's probably a reason Kirby's a 1 seed guys. I know Cjay likes to **** with the bracket, but I'm kinda doubtin' this was one of those times.

I think Ganondorf has already done enough to prove himself this year; a match with Samus shouldn't really cause us to second guess his strength, especially when SFF might me involved.

"Hope Sora chokes against Snake so that Alucard looks like a pathetic bastard?"

Or uh... just let ganon get SFFed by Samus? Making Alucard look bad isn't cool. And if not for how not-close Auron was to Ganon I'd be right there saying there is no SFF.

Yeah, well, Tidus still has a shot, I mean we all know how nintendo characters do with the day vote. So it's not like it's over yet...

Why not stop there? Kirby over Mario and Mega Man/Crono!

I still wonder if Ceej saw all this coming. He's put up four matches now that have totally wrecked the board brackets.

Well, maybe he was still a chump in 2k4 >_>

I blame the general nintendo increase on that.

Kirby's always had the board's backing with nominations though. That alone wasn't reason to believe he increased.

It's not too much of a stretch to assume SSBM continues to fuel these characters almost four years after its launch. For heaven's sake, it's still one of the Gamecube's best sellers month in and month out. Yes, I know the Gamecube has little else, but come on. Four years later!

Does anyone know how well magic mirror, and canvas curse both sold? They were both great games, so they could have boosted kirby way above mid carder status.

"Ganon has definitely proven himself."

Perhaps he can sit TP out and drop some. It just doesn't feel right to have Ganon that high. For soem reason I just don't like the pig man... and this coming from someone who considers Link to be one of the most deserving characters of a championship and LoZ as the best game ever.

I was actually just playing it before I checked the match, and I was looking at the stats. Zelda/Sheik has 4440ish hours logged in.

Shyeah, SSBM is sold as a bundle title now, so that can only help strengthen the longevity and overall popularity of the game.

"It's not too much of a stretch to assume SSBM continues to fuel these characters almost four years after its launch."

That was my reasoning for Ness over Jak last year by extension of Samus 2k2. I hate to say it but it's clearly one of the strongest driving forces in character popularity.

yeah, I'm of the opinion that SSBM gets stronger every year. I think that, in a game contest, it'd be a top 5 game this year, maybe as high as #3.

speaking of, did you guys hear that there's a new cube/SSBM combo for 99 dollars? even more of a reason for SSBM to get stronger.

I can certainly see Kirby getting a fair boost from Canvas Curse. It was the first must-have DS game, and therefore, it got a lot more attention from gaming publications than your average Kirby game.

FOURTH strongest FFX character.

Stats be damned, I'm not buying this for a second. Auron? Sure. Rikku? Possible, though I figured they'd be about equal. Yuna? Hell no. I say Tidus's floor is a bit above Yuna, and the rest is Kirby, here.

How am I sadly misinformed? Outside of SSB:M all Nintendo did was turn the casuals off of its product. Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, etc... SSB:M was the only game that really seemed to garner the casuals attention and was the only game that saved Nintendo from a complete disaster this generation.

One major implication of this is that Tifa is looking good to make the Final Four right now.

And if Sonic somehow does beat Tifa, he's looking good to beat Mega himself.

If Bowser SFF's Kirby and Ganondorf has the match of his life against Samus, I'm pretty sure Tidus will rank fourth this year. I don't really give enough of a crap about him to care, but it would just be hilarious to see.

Auron>Tidus is obvious, and I'd certainly take Rikku over him. Yuna/Tidus is questionable but I think I'd take Yuna, though the picture might matter (ugly pic for Yuna vs. Tidus with sword, and I'd probably go with Tidus).

But I guess this is what happens to a main character when he's got a fan favorite with far more appeal from the same game, and has two other characters who star in a high-selling sequel he doesn't star in.
