Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 217

Alright, then I'm horribly, horribly wrong. Hopefully kirby can keep this up. If the lead reaches 500 by the one hour mark it would take a miracle for tidus to come back. Kirby's no pushover with the day vote.

I'm betting most of the Kratos pickers picked him to round 3. Mass overestimation of a new character.
From: consolefreak | Posted: 8/26/2005 12:13:11 AM | Message Detail
PS2 fanboys, if any, would be one in a thousand voters at most.
They don't matter.

At most? That's 0.1%. When nearly 80% of this site has a Playstation 2, and hardly any have an Xbox, you know it'll be more. Or do you think everyone has a gamecube and a playstation 2, but no one has a Gamecube and an X-box?

Would you rather take him getting SFF'ed into the ground for no particular reason?

No particular reason??? FF characters were a big reason for KH sales. People bought the game for its FF characters.

Oh, wait, you believe SFF happened in every single match...

It's better than believing there's no SFF between Aerith and Sora.

Think for a second will you, who does each char appeal to?
It doesn't matter how many people has played both games, what matters is how similar their appeal is.

I just said that MGS differs from KH as much FF differs from KH. Then again, you don't believe in Aerith - Sora SFF.

Now, look at Crono vs. Magus, they're from the same damn game, yet the SFF between them is minimal.
Why? Because they appeal to different kinds of people.

What does that have to do with anything? Are you neglecting SFF in general? Look at Link - Ganondorf.

There will be NO SFF between Snake and Sora, period!

Ok, fortune-teller. I assume you have a perfect? Oh wait, that's impossible.

Nope, Zelda beat Vivi, Ganon beat Auron, Samus beat Frog, Ganon beat Yuna, and Kirby beat Cecil.

Next Square/Nintendo match is Lugi/Tifa.

And people thought I was crazy when I called it OBVIOUS last round. Just last round, really, people were in denial of that which I knew all along... that was Sora's match to win (or lose).

This really throws up a huge question: Could Ganondorf have the biggest increase of strength in contest history? Squall went from 24-31, but Ganon seems to of gone from should have been 25-33 or 34.

So, then... how high do we think the prediction % will be in favor of Tidus today? They both had really high % last round and both are known for some level of strength... but that's never stopped Tidus from having mass support. Look at his match with Shadow, really. At the time we expected them to be even and he had mass brackets, now that we expected Kiby to be about his equal will he still have mass brackets? Will I hit the top 50 for the first time ever?
