World Champion: Gyruss, Link's Awakening, Mega Man X, Solstice, Super Mario World, Zombies Ate My Neighbors

SPOILERS:

Bahamut has never appeared as a being capable of acting independently, by his own will.

Except maybe in FF VI and FF VIII, even in those games it's quite debatable whether or not Bahamut can act on his own will.

So there's little reason for him to be in a char contest.

END OF SPOILERS

Although should he made it in, he might be above fodder.

FF1?

Honestly, how many people here in the US has ever played anything before FF VI?

The vast majority of FF fans in the US start with FF VII.

Bahamut wasn't always Magicite in FF3/6j, you know. I believe he was a part of the Esper raid on you-know-what.

I know _I_ played FF1 before any other FFs, but yes, most people in the US started with FF7. I'm aware of that.

*Just read the last page*

Why rally for those characters, when you can rally for someone truly deserving of a contest spot. Of course, I'm talking about Fox McCloud.

In 2002, he got 30% on Cloud in round 1. Of course, Cloud got screwed over against Mario, who got SFFed by Link. Fox was lower on the stats because of this.

In 2003, he comfortably defeated Pikachu, then got SFFed majorly by Link. Again, screwed over in the stats.

Since then, he's appeared in SSBM and Starfox: Assault. He could become pretty strong, if given the chance.

Nevermind then, I must've gotten the older FF games mixed up.

Btw, any appearance prior to FF VI doesn't count, as very few people in the US has played anything older than FF VI.

Also, seeing as how Nintendo characters are kicking the crap out of almost everyone, it's hard to believe that the main character from one of there franchises is fodder.

Don't know about MH, but for something to be called a char, he/she/it must be able to act independently according to his/her/its own will.

Bahamut typically appears as nothing but a tool, for you or for your enemy.

At least FF1 Bahamut is elliglbe. And what with Megaman technically counting as all his incarnations, the same would apply to Bahamut.

jesus. Kirby is flattening Tidus.

it's awfully tough to argue that there hasn't been a voter shift in the last year towards the Nintendo / SSBM crowd. hell, a glove beat a Final Fantasy villain. saying that Squall is stronger because of last year is bad logic. he may beat Kirby, but I know that I wouldn't expect the match to be 55-45 Squall, either. personally, I'd take Kirby in a close one.

oh, and ff1 is awesome.

In 2002, he got 30% on Cloud in round 1.

You have a point there, even in 2k2, 30% on Cloud is still no joke.

But I don't care for any Nintendo avatars, so... sorry, NO.

And classic Rockman MM arguably doesn't have free will anyways. He's merely a tool of Dr. Light, acting on his programming alone.

Nope, most Nintendo chars are avatars, so I assumed that he is one as well, my bad.

Aside from that, I've never heard or seen him anywhere except in SSBM, so I doubt he's all that strong nowadays.

-...Infiltrate... ...the enemy fortress... ...Outer Heaven!
...Destroy... ...the final weapon... ...Metal Gear!
(referring to Metal Gear 1)

-President Baker should be somewhere to the south of where you blasted through
the wall. Hurry and save him before the terrorists discover his code.
(referring to Metal Gear Solid)

-I noticed this a while back, but you have far too many Game Overs. Sorry to be
blunt, but you really stink at this game.

-Honestly, though, you have played the game for a long time. Don't you have
anything else to do with your time?

-You got a PSG-1? You can use that against Sniper Wolf. Hurry up and save
Meryl!
(referring to Metal Gear Solid)

-You seem to get a real thrill out of slaughtering the enemy. Are you
frustrated about something?

-Even my patience has its limits. I just can't leave this thing up to you any
longer. I'll do the fighting! You can just go home!

-Actually, I am in really bad shape financially. I pay money to my ex-wife as
part of our divorce settlement, among other bills... I just had no choice but
to make you pay for lunch the other day. I'm really sorry.

-An Anemone or Clematis plant's juice can cause a rash. When pruning them it's
a good idea to wear gloves.

-Actually, there is something I have been meaning to tell you but I just
couldn't... I think you should know, though. On Saturday morning last week I
saw a guy leaving Rosemary's room... How should I put it, it was like they
were ... "intimate." I'm sorry. Sorry to bring this up during the mission,
but...

-Snake, they've input both detonation codes. The only way to stop the launch
now is to use the card key to re-input the codes.
(referring to Metal Gear Solid)

-Snake, like Shakespeare said: "Nought's had, all's spent, Where our desire is
got without content." Basically, it means that your desire can get you into
trouble if you're not careful. That goes for Items too. Don't get too greedy or
you might be sorry. Be careful, Snake.
(referring to Metal Gear Solid)

-Snake, remember what De Gaulle said: "The graveyards are full of indispensable
men." Snake, you're all alone and surrounded by bad guys. Try to be careful and
avoid getting into a fight whenever you can.
(referring to Metal Gear Solid)

-Listen, you haven't reported in for a long time until now. You think you can
just CALL only when you want something? You disappoint me.

-I can't believe it -- that someone who has committed all those twisted acts in
the woman's bathroom would make it this far... this is the end of the world.

-Munch, munch...Um? Raiden? I'm eating right now. Get back to me later...munch,
munch...

-You wouldn't be trying to give yourself a bogus score using some ingenious
trick would you? That's just about as low as anyone could possibly stoop! I
can't believe you sometimes...

-That reminds me, I saw Gubayama the other day in Shibomnigee. He said to give
you his best.

-La-li-lu-le-lo! La-li-lu-le-lo!! La-li-lu-le-lo!!!

-I'm not home right now. Please leave a message after the beep. BEEP

-ZZ...zz...

-I was a North American Fall Webworm in my past life. Those were the good old
days... What were you in your former life?

-I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with
the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-kiri Rock. I need scissors! 61!
