Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
http://sc2k5.com/drupal/node/11

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

I have said since day one I put 0 (Z-E-R-O) faith in the spring stats in relation to summer performance. Two completely different settings. Well, I guess I cannot say zero, since I followed it for Ocelot, but that just further proved to me that the title 'villains' contest did something screwy with the voting trends. See Kefka 70, Wesker 30.

No, actually. You're thinking about Sephiroth declining (which I would agree on), when that has nothing to do with it. The Spring contest, regardless of anyone's strength in comparison to Sephiroth accurately predicts Ocelot > Liquid.

Ocelot lost to Pac-Man in the 2k5 summer contest, Liquid lost to Frog in the 2k4 summer contest.

I understand how you shouldn't take the spring contest into account, certain characters overperformed tremendously (Bowser, Ganondorf) while others did the exact opposite (Sephiroth). However, Ocelot overperforming and Liquid underperforming is hard to believe -- they're from the same series.

No SFF in Sephiroth > Liquid predicts Pac-Man > MC.

consolefreak, if you think there's SFF in Seph > Liquid, then you might as well stick SFF in every single damn match!

There is absolutely NO SFF whatsoever between Seph and Liquid, it's just Seph being his usual inconsistent self.

I still doubt Sony fanboys even like Sora that much.

Exactly.

I mean, if you're willing to slap a SFF irregularity on any ole character from the same platform then there's not even any point to having XP stats in the first place.

How often have they failed us? SFF is the same concept as transitivity. Are you assuming transitive voting in nearly every match?

So you would take Yuna to be stronger than Tidus?

No, Newlib. I wouldn't. I wouldn't relate the spring stats to the summer stats. I would, however, relate Ocelot to Liquid as they are from the same series. Ocelot > Liquid in the spring. Liquid > Ocelot 2 months later? Doubtful, Newlib. Very doubtful.

Serious debate? Please, if someone wants to argue whether the Earth is flat or round, I'm not going to argue, I'm going to ridicule.

It's funny, becauce you're denying the existence of SFF in Snake - Sora, when I will be SFF-voting Snake.

Do you know someone who can reach the end of the world? Do you know someone who can drop off the world? Comparing this debate to the shape of the earth is funny, but quite irrelevant and simply wrong.

Tidus' strength is unclear, but if you're talking about doubting Ganon's Spring strength, I really wouldn't think he'd be much below it. He might be overrated by a point or two but that's about it.

The XP stats for what they try to do is actually fairly consistent. For the whole idea of what they try to accomplish, they're quite competent. Of course, there are idiots who do not understand their purpose, misuse them, and then condemn them when they're "TOTALLLY WRONG OMG !!!!"

Because of the system of loose ranges that naturally go with the XP stats that automatically take into account fluctuations caused by "minor sff", true SFF is only considered when it makes a difference such as the case of Mario VS. Bowser, Ganondorf Vs. Link, Link Vs. Yoshi, etc.

Going beyond that and trying to account for the minor SFF that could theoretically occur in every match is frivoulous, and makes compiling a system of XP stats completely worthless.
