Disney commercials has been airing since KH.

And more commercials for KH:CoM were aired. Maybe people haven't seen them until this year. A kid that watches the disney channel could stumble on to GameFAQs and say "Hey look, its that guy from the commercial!" *votes*

Ever since the announcement of Kingdom Hearts II, Sora's image has undergone a drastic change. He has become less child-like and more like a main stream FF protagonist, a type of character that is rather popular on this site...

I have yet to know anyone who got attached to a char from a handheld game.

Handhelds in general simply doesn't receive the same amount of respect that consoles get.

Of course, Sora could've increased, but there are reasons to suggest that it was Alucard underperforming and not Sora overperforming today.

After Ganon's matches with Yuna and Auron, it seems to me that Ganon being over-rated makes much more sense.

When have you ran into a case where the character in question was previously on another non-Nintendo platform, then received the handheld platform title, it sold very well, and had said character being the main character... again?

There hasn't been much of a reason for other characters who have received handheld titles to increase in the past, or at least none I could think of right off the bat. However, how one could ignore something like this with Chain of Memories makes no sense to me. Sora's first game was on the PS2, then he got a game on the GBA as the main character again. You're telling me that isn't going to do anything of note?

The Twin Snakes sold very poorly as it is -- nowhere near the amount that Chain of Memories sold. Solid Snake is also far more established and well-known than Sora is. That's something to take into account, along with the poor sales.

First of all, Sora doesn't stand a chance against Solid Snake (SFF will favour Solid Snake, and it will be existent).

Anyway, from the 2k4 stats Snake is expected 54.99% (a number Sora will likely exceed).

However, SFF isn't the only thing working in Snake's favour; after his match with Zelda and hers with Vivi, Snake is expected to get 59.44% (that's assuming a constant Vivi).

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but what happens if Nintendo butchers the Revolution controller to the point where SSBO and other titles play like complete and utter crap?
