Like 250 voters live in Japan.
Like 25 of them will actually buy CV tomorrow.
Like 15 of them will actually stop playing long enough to log on.
Like 7 of them will actually like Alucard more than Sora.

Unless this turns out to be another MC/Frog, it won't matter.

Whoa whoa whoa... Alucard: the playable character, comes out in a game released tomorrow in Japan? Wish I woulda known that before... I woulda lowered Sora a bit to compensate for the 74 votes it will swing <_<

Match 38: (6) Alucard Tepes vs. (2) Sora

Past Performances

Alucard Tepes

Summer 2005
Beat Kratos, 55.52% - 44.48%

Win - Lose Record
5-3

Sora

Summer 2005
Beat Agent 47, 70.73% - 29.27%

Win - Lose Record
3-2

Analysis

Third match into the overrated gauntlet, but this time either character could win though no matter whom wins this match will probably will not be in question. No matter who wins this match about half the board will get it wrong. My money is on Alucard and I still think he can win.

Speaking of Alucard his match against Kratos wasn’t that good, but we wouldn’t know since Kratos is a new character. After thinking for a while Kratos may rank up there along with the likes of Yoshi and Vercetti. Sora on the other hand didn’t do as expected on Agent 47, Neo-Tanner my ass. Like Alucard this doesn’t mean that Sora is weak it means that Agent 47 is stronger then we thought.

There’s news that Kingdom Hearts 2 is going to come out soon and many people think this will be the punch Sora needs to beat Alucard. Unless it’s a revolutionary title I don’t think hyping for games is going to help Sora as much as many people want. Kingdom Hearts 2 is not going to be the next Halo game or Zelda.

After Ganondorf easily beating Auron I think to say that Alucard’s match against Ganondorf was because he was strong not that Ganondorf was weak. I’m also putting money on that Ganondorf got the Zelda boost before 2k4 or Alucard will lose.

Like I said this match can go either way, but after the winner has been selected I don’t think he’ll be in any danger of losing. For Alucard to win he would have to make very good use with the night vote since the day is his weakness (Sora isn’t strong during the day either, but she’ll probably do better then at night).

charmander6000’s Bracket: Alucard Tepes over Sora

charmander6000’s Prediction: Alucard wins 52.26% - 47.74%

This is off-topic, but I'm about to play some Eternal Champions on the Genesis...I used to absolutely love this game. Hopefully it's still as good.

Heh, I remember that game. I was fairly decent at it. I used to love using Larcen and that 21st century female ninja (forgot her name). The caveman dude was decent, if only for his dinosaur finishing move.

has any one realized that castlevania dos is released in japan tommorow and that alucard is a playable character?

What the hell are you talking about? Alucard isn't in Aria of Sorrow OR Dawn of Sorrow!!!!

There is this awesome character named Genya Arikado in those games. He should really get his own game sometime...

I'm thinking Sora/Alucard will be 56/44. I'll never get why this match is so split when Auron vs Ganondorf was hugely favoring Ganon. That match always seemed to much tougher to me then this.
---
I need to put something here.
From: LeonhartForever | Posted: 8/24/2005 9:06:56 PM | Message Detail
Well, Ganon winning so easily kinda favors Alucard. Depends on if he's gone up any since 2004 or if that's really where he was.

Is there a reason why this match has such a high vote total? I can't see Snake and Zelda as being the biggest of vote drawers, especially with those pictures. I never would have thought Ganondorf/Yuna to be that high, either. I'm guessing it's more due to other factors, like the day, month, anticipation, and lack of glitches/et cetera?

I would imagine the fanbase overlap isn't very high, so more people are voting. Kinda like how Squall/Kirby and Squall/Luigi were among the most voted matches for their respective contests despite none of them really being known for being big draws. I think both Dream Division matches will break 100,000 easily.

Well, maybe I should clarify that a bit. There's fanbase overlap to a degree in every match. I just think this would be an instance where it's even lower than usual, just due to the fact that they both appeal to a vastly different audience.

So, two cookie-cutter options win 54-46 and all of a sudden The Gauntlet sucks. Well, why should every hard to call match be close? 54-46 for a slight favorite is more than logical.

I can make one guarantee, though, and it's that if someone wins with 54%, it sure as hell won't be Alucard. He barely did better on Kratos for Pete's sake, and as pathetic as Sora was last round I still would never see him involved in an all-day affair against Kratos.

People aren't giving Sora the benefit of the doubt. He may have people that don't like him, but Kingdom Hearts is quite a force when it comes to popularity. Sora's detractors may prevent him from completely blowing somebody out, but he has more than enough fans to be able to beat somebody like Alucard.
