I actually intended to stay up 'til the beginning of the poll since I
don't have a class until 2 P.M. tomorrow, but I fell asleep around 2
and woke up around 4.

Oh, and the question I ask before I depart (HaRRicH style): Is FFX
doomed to have another "close" match where the winner is seemingly in
control from wire-to-wire? Looks like it right now. Here's hoping Auron
bucks the trend.

yeah, this match is 50-50 now. good to see we've got a match here.
unfortunately for Auron, this is probably his strongest time, and not a
lot of votes are coming in.

Well we all know contest lore is just that (except GFNW, obviously, that is fact), but at this rate, I could easily see either that or Auron getting the lead and running away with it.

FF10 does seem to have a lot of respectable losses - Rikku, Yuna, now
Auron. I think Ganon is the heavy favourite right now, but Auron still
has a chance. I wouldn't put a 500 vote deficit at 01:42 past anyone.

the "Europe vote", or whatever you want to call it, has definitely
started, as Auron is chipping away at the lead. they must like FF10
more than us over there, because every FF10 character increases right
around this time.

Yuna stopped her "night gain" at about 4:45 into the match. If this
match is any similar, Auron needs to have the lead within the next
three hours. I'm not buying what's being thrown around in this topic;
there's no way I feel he takes the morning or day vote from Ganondorf.

I never said Auron would significantly take the day vote. By all means,
the Ganon/Yuna matchup was FAIRLY steady thoughout the day. The
percentages shifted from Ganondorf to Yuna's favor, but it wasn't by
much. The percentages still hovered within 1-2%.

this thing is deadlocked. Ganon just can't get to 500.
I've been reloading this thing since 00:05. I need a life, along with some sleep. before I go, I'll say that we should get a nice read on Auron's strength, even though we'll have to go through either 2k3 Ganon or Sp2k5 Ganon, depending on which you trust. it looks like Seph SFFed him by about 4-5%.
..whoa, and Auron just freaking destroyed Ganon in that update. now I have to stay up to see the next one. stupid contest.

well, I imagine part of it is the downtime during the first five
minutes.. but not all of it. school definitely did start for some,
though; it'll be interesting to see where the votes suddenly decline.
my guess would be after labour day.

I'm guessing that the poll starting a bit late had a small effect on
it. Plus factoring in that with school starting, fewer people are
staying up late to vote in the poll...

Nor can you expect them to deadlock this early. But still... Ganon
hasn't gained an inch since I got home an hour and a half ago and
there's the chance that Auron takes home the day vote.

The difference there was that CT had the early lead. Right now, Auron
is at a clear disadvantage. You don't want to be lagging behind a
Nintendo character heading into the day vote. I hope he can pull this
out, but...right now, I've got my doubts.
