What's with the shock. The only way Frog could do better is if he was stronger than Magus. And if he was, it can't be by much.

Not for long, he didn't.

To add more to the MC/DK thing, I fooled with the numbers a lil' bit...let's assume Knuckles is constant from 2k3 to 2k5 and Magus still beats Fisher with 66.25%. From there, we can can see Fisher should have only gotten 34.65% against DK (Fisher had 35.24%). That could easily be random fluctuation, but also keep in mind Fisher has had two games since 2k3. No matter the case, if Fisher gained much of anything with his two games and DK went up along with him due to the general boost in Nintendo we've seen so far, we could see DK > MC...

...not that random fluctuation couldn't already put DK over MC right now, mind you.

You'd never find the entire board happier to lose two points than if DK would beat Master Chief. May very well be the moment of the tournament, right there.

By the way since MC let CATS get almost three times the amount of votes he usually get against a first seed wouldn't that mean that MC is more of a low midcarder? even perhaps under midcarder level

Knuckles beating Magus was the best thing that EVER happened to me on GameFAQs. :) I don't really care for DK (Diddy > DK) and I actually like Halo, so I would be kind of upset if Chief lost to him. Not much though.

As for this match, I hope Samus pushes for 60%. I can't believe I was actually supporting Frog last year. I never realized how much I DON'T like him until I played through CT again. Oh yeah, now that the Zero match is over, I guess I can go on to writing that PCA entry...

On the side, I just randomly went shopping for some old PS and N64 games. I bought Tenchu: Stealth Assassins for $1.99. I only wanted it to hear the opening song "Add'ua". I already mastered the game, and just wanted it for nostalgia. I also picked up WWF No Mercy for $3.99. I never played the WWF games on N64, and I heard they were much better than the WCW games.

I also picked up Parasite Eve, since my friend in the army took his back a couple of years ago. It's one of my favorites. I also found Threads of Fate. I never got to play that game, so why not now? :) I nabbed Sonic Gems Collection because I never played Sonic CD. I was gonna eBay a Sega CD and Sonic CD before I found out about Gems. And finally, I got my little brother the Chihuahua edition of Nintendogs for 14.99 from Amazon. Just random 4 AM babbling.... <_<

It amazes me how strong Crono is, especially when old Square characters are proving to be a worthless collection of weaklings while Magus and Frog are both proving to be overrated. He's old Square's lone pillar of strength.

If Frog continues this freefall and Samus really takes off during the day, she has an outside shot at doing almost what Zero did to Lloyd (maybe 2% off). That'll shock a few people, but it will disappoint many more.

excellent results today. looks like Samus will break 70%. we'll have to see if she can hang onto it until the end of the match once she does.

i don't see any reason why not. and i have long been a big supporter of Bahamut. i've mentioned several times before that he should make it in. i think he would do very well in these contests. not only has he been in every FF game, but he is also quite recognizable and his pics have casual appeal.

Calculate the difference between MC 2003 and 2004, and you have it.

Wow, the board vote was so biased towards Frog Samus increased throughout the night. Ouch. Unless we're in one of these bizarro days where the day/night patterns are reversed... think not though.

And here comes the mandatory "I was right all along" bragging... IN FANFIC FORM!

Magmoor Caverns, Triclops Pit.

Food. I need food.

There's never any food here.

There's just the hot red thing, but the hot red thing isn't yummy.

I need food, else I'll die.

Hey, there's an orange ball thing passing through here. Maybe it's food!

*gulp*

I GOT FOOD! I GOT FOOD! I HOPE THIS FOOD TASTES GOOD!

*crunch*

OWOWOWOWOWOW my teeth! My beautiful teeth! Oh that hurts!

*spits*

Aw, that wasn't food. Am I going to be left here to die or what?

Oh, the orange thing is back.

It dropped a shiny little ball. This might be good! This might be FOOD!

*gulp*

I GOT FOOD! I GOT FOOD! I HOPE THIS FOOD TAS*BOOOOOOOM*

Problem with Bahamut is that he's only significant in the weaker FF's, like 1, 3, 4, 9, and maybe a couple others. Not 6, 7, and 8. If anything, Bahamut would benefit more from having three or so different forms in FF7 than anything.

I don't think he'd do so well, to be honest.

Yeah, because anyone gave a hoot at Snake's chances in the Final 4, whoever he'd end up facing. The point of interest is, will he even make it there? He can very well lose in two days...

So, my schedule is completely screwed up. I already hate Calculas II and I haven't even taken the class, just for its ability to mess my schedule over.

Anyway, here's how much of a shot I think everyone has at a final four slot:

Samus - 50%
Mario - 46%
Zero - 2%
Ganondorf - 1%
Auron - 1%

Snake - 35%
Zelda - 25%
Bowser - 20%
Ryu - 10%
Tidus - 5%

Crono - 75%
Vincent - 25%

Tifa - 40%

Tifa would need to be a decent deal stronger than Aeris in order to beat Sonic. Just because she hammered Vyse like Sephiroth would does not mean this is the case. I still say that quarter of the bracket is Mega Man's to lose.

after seeing how long popularity can be sustained i think that link and cloud are the gaming equivalent of james bond and star wars. which means they can stay decades at the top. characters like lara croft are like gone with the wind uber in it's heyday but now mostly ignored. so that means it may take up to 50-60 years before link and cloud become weak

A lot of character's popularity will probably wither way after a good 10 years. The average age remains between 13 and 21. So at the point in time where that age group is too "past the prime time" of playing FF7 and other games, then their popularity should theoretically decrease >_<

Theoretically.
