Games vs. characters would depend. For instance FF7 would probably destroy any of it's characters, but characters like link or mario that have been in a lot of games would probably be able to beat any of their individual games.

Yeah, old school square always seems to choke terribly throughout a match, but start off big. Hell frog even had around 70% for the first bit of his match, and it took rikku a while to knock him under 60%. So if frog looks impressive at the start of this match I wouldn't put much weight on it until later on.

Based on what we've seen so far in this tournament, I'd be surprised if Samus ends up much higher than she is now. In both of the Nintendo/Square matchups we've seen in this contest (as well as Ganondorf/Bowser vs. Sephiroth in the spring, though there were other factors involved), the Nintendo character looked ridiculously strong in the early going.

Combination of things. I think there has been a Nintendo increase all across the board, or, at the very least, the Mario characters have all gained strength. Also, if Mario were to win a contest, this would be the one. His fanbase is way too rabid and devoted; he'd never lose in a final if it isn't against someone that completely outclasses him. If he can rSFF Samus, I truly believe he'll win the tournament.

As for Samus/Frog...Frog is gettin' F'd in the A, yo. I'll point it out again; if Master Chief 2k3 faced Samus 2k4 and MC = Frog, then Frog gets 30.87% against Samus...not accounting for any boost she might get from MP2 or having demos shipped with the DS. So, with MC lookin' more and more like he's steady from 2k3 (Face-CATS helps confirm this, DK should get 48.45% against MC when their match comes up.
