Can I see the pic you're talking about?

Oh, and crap, Yoshi has fallen to 74.57... Dang it, my prediction was exactly right for a bit there. Still, it's a pretty solid win for the green dino.

There was no logical reason to make such an upset.

...shut up about Magus/Knuckles being illogical! Ocelot beating Yoshi is even more illogical!

Heck yeah, I can't wait for Yoshi to stomp Ocelot! Some MGS fans dissing Yoshi kind of made me mad, so, I feel no pity for the old man villain of MGS.

Also, that Vincent pic is really cool. Not really something I'd stare at on my desktop, though..

I'm torn, should I vote for Pac-Man, who I like better, or Ocelot tomorrow? I mean, I want Ocelot to look as strong as possible, so Yoshi will look strong when beating him... but, I dunno. I wouldn't want to contribute to a bracket busting upsets if ol' Pac can pull it off. I just don't know..

Voting for Ocelot instead of Pac-Man isn't really going to make him look any stronger for the next round. If I liked Pac-Man better, I'd say the only reason I wouldn't vote for him would be to save my bracket if Ocelot looks to be in danger of getting beaten.

Hopefully Knux is delivering a 1-2 blow to Squalls head, then he might have a chance.

I <3 Squall, but for my bracket to have any chance, Knux must take the division.... and Dante will have to beat Vincent first, but that's a foregone conclusion.

Such a boring match you guys are talking about. I almost don't want to vote at all because I don't really care for either or the games they come from. Thank god there are only two "meh" matches next round... Sonic vs. Diablo and Yoshi vs. Revlover. Too mad that all of those characters first round matches were also basically "meh" to me too.

i love looking at the selected contest winners of the Top 50:

22 - Mario
8 - Samus Aran
7 - Crono
2 - Megaman
2 - Sonic the Hedgehog
2 - Solid Snake
2 - Ganondorf
2 - Zelda
1 - Tifa Lockheart
1 - Master Cheif
1 - Alucard

that has got to be the first time i remember seeing Alucard up there, especially this late in the contest. WTF........ that has got to be a favorites bracket.

and with more favorites brackets falling off, Samus is finally making a comeback on the Top 50. go Samus!!!

Good to see Samus bracket support is showing. Freeman knocked off most of those casual brackets.

And I'm expecting serious Pac-Man over-performance against Ocelot. I can't see Ocelot winning by more than 60, and I predict this is going to be a 55-45 match.

From: Karma Hunter | Posted: 8/18/2005 3:53:23 PM | Message Detail
I may be only getting last minute jitters, but...I fear Ocelot may lose. I mean, I know it's Pac-Man, but Ocelot isn't exactly the paragon of popularity either. Plus, he's nigh unrecognizable.

Well, here's hoping he takes him down and then gets his Major Ocelot picture next round to overperform on Yoshi.

Why can't Cjay just give Ocelot his damn young pictures. Santa Ocelot = the suck.
From: Phediuk | Posted: 8/18/2005 4:31:06 PM | Message Detail
Yeah, I'm starting to get a little worried about Ocelot/Pac-Man, too.

Sure, Pac-Man was doubled by Luigi, but he's not really that weak. He's just a victim of what I like to call-brace yourselves, I've just coined a new term-FFF, or "Fodder Fluctuation Factor". It means that the stronger the opponent, the weaker fodder is.

That's why, in 2002, characters like Ryo Hazuki and Lara Croft appeared to be much stronger than they actually are-because they faced really weak opponents.

Basically, the weaker Ocelot is, the stronger Pac-Man will be. The question is...just how weak will Ocelot be?

Phediuk makes a brilliant point, there.

And ironically, it's the guy who's been hella out of his mind for the last few days. ;)

The funny thing about this statement is that I just now got done reading a psychological analysis of how the human brain automatically passes off atypical behavior, be it of superior or inferior nature to the subject, as a threat to the subject's way of thinking and their ideals; ergo, you assume that anyone who dares not treat the Xsts as God is out of their mind.

And you're not the only one, unfortunately.

But it's still a good starting point to predict matches between 2 chars that you don't know enough to predict on your own.

Because we want them to look a certain way and will adjust them to that so we can get ourselves to pick Magus over Knuckles.

Adjustments aren't always 100% correct. Considering the BOP had a prediction percentage of 0, those on Board 8 who don't use Extapolated Standings didn't so any better on that match.
