If Kratos > Leon, I seriously dont know what to think. RE4 and GOW came out around the same time.

1) RE4 is more loved by the internet gaming community
2) Leon is a more liked character than Kratos, generally.
3) Leon has Resident Evil 2, you know the other game fighting for most popular RE game ever, to fall back on.

I would be stunned more than any of the matches except for Knuckles/Magus if Leon does not get atleast 69-31 on GF. Stunned.

1. Tripling Gordon Freeman.

1. Kratos draws from the X-Box and PS2. Whereas Leon Kennedy only draws from Gamecube at the moment. (well, not including RE2 on PS1)
2. Kratos seems to have a more interesting character design.
3. With the exception of this board, I've heard much more about God of War than Resident Evil 4. (Magazines and the like)

I think these will make Kratos > Leon Kennedy. Mainly point 1.

God of War is only for PS2. RE2 has been on PS1, Gamecube, Dreamcast, and PC, and it is the best-selling Resident Evil by far.

RE4 has better reviews and better sales. And of course GoW is in more magazines now, it's four months newer than RE4 is.

Recency will help in this case as well then. And I didn't mean now, I meant in general. As in in their heydays, comparatively God of War seemed to get more publicity from my observations.

I just realized that Mario and FF7 have a chance to go on the greatest run we've ever seen in one of these contests. More impressive than Starcraft, even.

Imaging the following series of events:

-Mario defeats Samus
-Bowser defeats Snake
-Vincent defeats Dante, Squall, and Crono
-Tifa defeats Luigi, Sonic, and Mega Man
-Mario defeats Bowser
-Vincent defeats Tifa
-Mario barely defeats Vincent to win the main bracket
-Cloud upsets Link
-Mario defeats Sephiroth and Cloud in consecutive days, thus putting Mario above Link in the Xsts

Not only would Mario win the entire contest (and god damn, does he deserve to), but it would put Mario and Cloud (and possibly others) above Link in the stats.

Yes, it's funny because they're right. Mario had EVERY advantage in his favor in 2002 and still got lucky to beat Cloud. Belittle the stats all you want, but Mario essentially has no chance of beating Cloud if they have a rematch in the near future.
