Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 205
From: UltimaterializerX | Posted: 8/15/2005 11:06:57 PM | Message Detail
I'm going to need a volunteer (maybe even two or three if you guys can work it out) to do some writeups for my Post Contest Analysis. I've never allowed guest writeups before, but I have no choice. Either someone is willing to do some writing for me, or I simply don't write about any match that happens while I'm getting married and on my honeymoon.

I will more or less be gone from this Saturday (August 20th) until August 28th.

Translation - I need writeups for the following matches:

August 20th - Mario vs Ness (tentative; I may actually be able to see most of this match)
August 21st (my wedding day! ^_^) - Zero vs Lloyd
August 22nd - Samus vs Frog
August 23rd - Ganondorf vs Auron
August 24th - Solid Snake vs Zelda
August 25th - Alucard vs Sora
August 26th - Kirby vs Tidus
August 27th - Bowser vs Ryu

I don't care if one person does them all or eight people do eight different writeups. I'd just appreciate some help, otherwise I'll have a PCA with missing writeups, five of which are extremely big matches happening all in a row.

By the way, if you wish to help, don't wait until after the contest to write. Try doing the analysis either on the day of the match or very soon after it ends. Waiting until the PCA means that I'd have to wait on you to actually go forth with that section of the topic, and I don't want that. Lastly, please don't volunteer to help and then not write for me.

Thanks well in advance to anyone that wishes to help, and with any luck I'll have eight writeups in my inbox when I get back home. With even more luck, the wedding will turn out okay <_<

Oh yeah, and please don't volunteer to write for me unless you can write fairly well, will put in a decent amount of information (around a full post should work) and will stay relatively unbiased.

In 2k4, Cloud didn't start cutting back Link's percentage/lead until late into the second night vote.

He won 13 updates from 18:00 until the end of the match, to be more precise.

Hey, I frogot to tell you guys that today's my birthday. Well, err, it was 17 minutes ago, on my clock, anyway. I got Kirby: Canvas Curse. Great game, in case you haven't played it yet. >_>

P.S. GODDAMN, the vote totals for this match are good.

Happy birthday Phediuk.

Ulti, I'll volunteer my service for Solid/Zelda, Bowser/Ryu, or Mario/Ness since those three matches feature the best pair of characters I know from my experience. Preferably, Mario/Ness since that'll be the least hyped match, and I'll be fine if somebody else wants any of them. Consider me open if we need somebody to do any of those three when the time comes though.

I don't care who does what. If you want to split them, you guys would have to work it out among yourselves by doing signups or something.

Phediuk. I'm glad you're interested, but try not to make these writeups sound like the posts in your Overrated Games topic =p

Speaking of fun writeups, I cannot wait for Sonic/Mega Man regardless of who wins. Are there any two characters in gaming more fitting of a match then these two? This will be like that game between the Bengals and the Rams near the end of the 90s that decided which team would have the worse overall record in the decade.

And Harrich, we'll draw virtually straws for Bowser/Ryu. ;) I have big expectations for both Zero and Bowser, so if things go according to my plan, I won't know how to contain myself!

Anywho, we're not having too many more good matches for awhile, so you won't miss out on too much.

Have it, therealmnm. I wanna contribute, but I don't wanna feel responsible for a three-post doozie of a write-up if Bowser/Ryu turns out to be a great match like it's been expected. Mario/Ness is the one I'm hopin' for here, though I'll do Solid/Zelda or Bowser/Ryu if nobody else wants to (and I know you want Bowser/Ryu, so don't let me stand in your way).

Well, Luigi has more votes than Sonic against a much stronger opponent, so it doesn't really matter. He's looking quite good right now, though Tifa will still destroy him.

So I'm thinking Luigi has about 88% of the brackets here.

I'd consider doing one of those write ups, but I'm sure the others are just eager to jump write on them, so I'll allow them to take them. If one remains unclaimed for a long time I'll take it.
