She wasn't in the contest before for the same reasons Vincent wasn't, and why Aeris was snubbed this year--the fanbase splits upon all the FF7 nominations. I can see Red XIII doing this to Vyse, too. But when you have people nominating Cloud, Sephy, Vincent, Tifa, Aeris, Red XIII, Barret, Yuffie, Cid, AND you have company caps like last year? Forget about it. That, and the nominating pool isn't like the actual poll--and people usually nominate their favorites. Tifa has broad support, but I hesitate to say that she ranks in the top three of many people's favorite lists.

No way is tifa stronger than Sonic. No way. Sonic is universally recognized. The only person/s universally recognized from FFVII (IE by those who havent played it) is Cloud and possibly sephiroth. Sonic is a gaming icon, up there with Mario. Sorry, I don't see it happening, though it could be close.

Like most people said, if Kerrigan is anything around Gordon's level, Vincent is with the likes of Zero, etc.

Personally, I wouldn't even put Dante that high, even after DMC3

Vergil is pretty bad, but the fact that he actually got INTO the SpC2k5, and beat anyone despite the fact that he's probably one of the hardest villains to even identify in Dante's series, is enough to say that Dante's in good shape after DMC3. After all, we don't exactly judge Sonic on Robotnik, do we?

Though, again, I'm thinking Vincent beats Dante, and pretty comfortably.

Well... she's still above Samus right now. I don't think it'll last all day... heck, she may very well drop below Crono.

The thing is, if a FF7 character takes the main bracket, it'll be the death blow to these contests. Especially if they get a 1-2 in the X-Sts. That'd mean that out of the 4/5 strongest characters, 3/4 would be from FF7.

Tifa's falling just a few points short of what Cloud did on Vyse. CLOUD.

Oh, and by the way. Advent Children comes out two days after Sonic/Tifa. So if Tifa survives all the way there... hmmm.

IMO, this is just seeing a return of characters to 2k3 levels. Sonic has likely dropped. FF7 has likely risen. Seeing as how Cloud scored 81% on Vyse in 2k4, this *really* doesn't surprise me. I'd wager he'd have done much more in 2k3.

I don't doubt it will be close--Aeris/Sonic WAS close. I don't doubt that Tifa might win--it just ain't gonna be by 60%.

Really, I've been saying this for a while. The reason I'm not too impressed is that despite 2k3, Aeris *still* lost to Sonic. Tifa might be stronger, and she has a great chance at winning. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
