You love bad characters and even worst gameplay then?

Seriously though, Xenosaga had the second worst dungeon designs EVER. Guess what was first? Baten Kaitos, same developer.

So how well do you think Vyse well have to do in order to silence the tifa > sonic bandwagon? I think if she fails to break 70% it well be a lot quieter until round two comes at the very least.

Analysis

Looks like we have another Final Fantasy VII character making her first appearance in the summer contests, but will it be a good one? Like Vincent, Tifa should easily win this match. By many on the board Vyse is considered the fodder line and if you’re considered fodder you will be behind the line or Vyse. I don’t think Tifa is fodder; she has a big role from the most popular game on GameFAQs and that will keep her from being fodder. If she wants a shot at the Sweet 16, she better beat Vyse worse then Donkey Kong did.

Many people have discussed on whether Tifa or Aeris was stronger then the other. Before Kingdom Hearts I wouldn’t know, but since it’s came out I would probably take Aeris for the win. Tifa wasn’t apart of Kingdom Hearts so she won’t get the boost that Cloud, Sephiroth and Aeris got, but pre-Kingdom Hearts I think she would go 50/50 against Aeris and might win because of TJF. Using pre-KH Aeris Tifa would rank at around 28.50% against 2k4 Link. That’s still more then enough to make it to the Sweet 16, but there could be the outside chance where she could be a lot stronger/weaker then Aeris, but I don’t think she’ll be too far off.

As I said Vyse is king fodder and really only won a match because he was against a fodder character. Nothing new has happened to Vyse between the years and he didn’t really gain/drop between 2k3 and 2k4 (he was like .2 off from predicting his match against Cloud correctly), unless Cloud grew/fell at the same rate as Vyse. Vyse has no chance in winning this match or even making it close since many of us agreed that Tifa is no fodder or near fodder. Vyse barley has a chance on breaking 40%, but if he does it will be mostly be because Tifa is weak not because Vyse is strong.

As of now Tifa looks like she’s the favorite to make it to the sweet 16. Vyse may escape a doubling, but this match won’t be interesting and most people will probably be discussing Dante/Vincent more then what’s happening on this match. I don’t see Tifa breaking 70%, but if she does I won’t be surprised (I’ve seen weirder things on this contest.), but it will make my Dante over Vincent pick look even worse.

charmander6000’s Bracket: Tifa Lockheart over Vyse

charmander6000’s Prediction: Tifa wins, 66.85% - 33.15%

I don't mind getting spoiled for the most part.

Especially with ToS since I don't even have a GC.

But for the sake of other readers, don't spoil it.

I can always look up the ToS FAQs anyway if I really want to get spoiled.

Btw, charmander, I won't trust Aeris' 2k2 value if I were you.

Aeris was behind potential Link/Mario SFF and the infamous Mario/Crono I that involves vote stuffing.

So her 2k2 value has a question mark on it.

I don't believe that Aeris got any sort of a boost from Kingdom Hearts. She did absolutely NOTHING for the game, other than being there. She wasn't even a semi-interesting mini-boss like Yuffie. If she did get a boost, it would be because the FF characters in KH caused people to go and play FFVII, in which case Tifa would have gotten just as much of a boost as Aeris.

A character that's been in very few games gets into the game will gain a little. Which is why she only gained less then 2%.

FFVII is a good game, but it's not spectacular. It's still one of my favorites though. A big reason it sold so much is due to it's demo being included with the Playstation. That allowed EVERYONE that bought a Playstation a chance to see how good of a game it was.

If it wasn't for the demo, I probably would never have bought it. I was in love with FF3/6, and I didn't like the futuristic look that FFVII had. Plus it only had THREE characters in the part instead of four. Yeah, those were lame reasons, but they were there nonetheless... <_<

Heh, if you used active/semi-active battle system, managing 4 chars at once would be somewhat confusing, like FF IX.

The only recent FF game in which I wish I can use more than 3 chars simultaneously is FF X, only because it's completely turn-based.

I"ve always been a fan of four character battles. It's irked me that virtually every RPG with ATB since FFVII has only had three characters. Four make for faster battles. One thing that FFVI did really well with the four character system was the side/pincer attacks, I loved those (getting pincered by two Tyrranousaurs at low levels is killer). With the additional character, it also opens up the possibility of the developers putting in harder and more powerful bosses, though FFVI didn't exercise that option to a high degree (I'm talking Emerald/Ruby level creatures).

No thanks.

The most famous on is probably "Super Atma" made by the user Grand Lord of Chaos from the FF3 board. You can find a copy of it here:
members.shaw.ca/teamrocketelite/SuperAtma3.zip

You'll need to supply your own FF3 rom. Just follow the instructions in the readme. If you are interested in other super monsters(and other cool stuff) try checking around here:

It's been a while since I've last messed around with stuff like this so most of the sites I used to know have moved so I don't have much more information than this.
