Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
http://sc2k5.com/drupal/node/11

Simple Explanation of Extrapolated Standings:
A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A
C = Character Weaker than B
To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

I have a question. What was Kefka/Vercetti like during the night of the match? I was not here for it and I heard a bit about it.

Also, what was Magus/Knuckles like as well.

Magus took a large lead and then rolled over and died. Knuckles had taken the lead during the morning and slaughtered Magus during the day vote. After Knux got going the result was never questioned.

I actually saw Magus/Knux in the early going, with Magus holding a good lead. So I left thinking he had it in the bag.

Today is the first time I've been able to see the final results, imagine my shock when I saw Knuckles name in bold in the Contest Stats (I had Magus winning the division...damn it).

Looks like we won't have that Magus/Squall match-up that everyone was holding their breath for. Now, Knuckles/Squall will be the epic match-up.

No... Magus' lead in the early morning was projected to be 70%. He only got somewhere around 55% and 800 votes over Knuckles before he started dropping.

Magus was hovering between 40%-42% during the opening 20 minutes.

I was expecting Knux to get about 45% at that stage.... But then an hour later everything was as expected.

Bah, I was hoping Kratos would lead early.

He was when I voted. It was something like 45-40.

And it's kinda sad that Squall got more individual votes than Sonic and had a larger vote differential as well. That alone should be enough to tell how disappointing that performance was yesterday.

You can sing Crono's praises all you wish, but you'll be quite wrong.

Wrong? I am willing to bet that I could tell you every little detail about Crono's personality, down to the very scenes that show it off. This isn't to say that I'm the only one capable, as it is blatantly obvious to see that Crono has a personality. However, if you keep the idea in your head that he just "follows Marle" I could see how you wouldn't catch it.

By the way, is it at all possible that "Auron" being in the poll is making any difference?

For the record, Sonic would be expected to get 73.31% on Vyse. Aeris would be expected to get 70.02% on him. So if Tifa scores under 70% tomorrow, she's weaker than Aeris.

At the moment, based on Spring Contest Diablo, Kratos currently stands at 21.50% on Link, right below Viewtiful Joe.

Dusty: Be my guest. Show me any signs of Crono having any personality that doesn't involve the Ocean Palace scene, and prove that he does more than go along with whatever Blondie says.

I shall do this very thing, perhaps not at this moment or even in this topic. But I'll make sure to alert you of this here soon. One scene, just as an easy example, that immediately jumps out to me is the one where Melchoir is freed from the Mountain of Woe and ends up in the residents of the Earthbound Ones. It is here that Schala has apparently been captured -- or something, I haven't played in a while to remember the exact details -- and by no control of the player, Crono steps up to say that he'll go to help her.

Melchoir explains how the odds are heavily against him, that this would be a very arduous task, etc. yet Crono shakes his head to the questions asked by Melchoir on if Crono would still want to continue forward with this. No other party members said anything; in fact, they all seemed rather down by the entire deal. You then have the scene that everyone is aware of. All you have to do is piece together everything little bit to gather Crono's personality. Admittedly, it isn't anything new and he doesn't have depth or development -- then again, Crono Trigger as a whole lacks this. Crono doesn't speak, as he is a "mute," however, we do see him answer questions without the player having to answer a "Yes" or "No" question, where it is implied that Crono is speaking regardless.

Is it really hard for you to piece together everything from Chrono Trigger and come up with absolutely nothing for Crono? Seriously, just think back to everything in the game. Are you honestly able to tell me that you cannot find qualities in Crono, even as simple as courage, the caring of the people around him, and his overall selfless attitude? I find it hard for you to tell me no.

Better believe it! With 75%, Tifa would be at 35.9% on 2004 Link, which is very near to Mega Man's adjusted value. We're talking Final Fantasy VII dominance at its finest should she get it.

Yes, we can make these comparisons because the stats have proven to be reliable in this contest. V_V

Yep. If we get a tripling tomorrow, TJFa has an excellent shot at the Final 4. It'd be hilarious, for one, because what's left of our brackets would be shot down right there and then.

The stats are reliable. It's just that the matches are unreliable.

Crono knows the words "yes", "no", and has a lot of courage; these are all firsts for an RPG lead and makes Crono a better character than Ness as a result.

The point is that you emphasized that Crono has no personality, which is untrue.

Crono has spiky hair and a sword. He doesn't need personality.

Yes, we can make these comparisons because the stats have proven to be reliable in this contest.

Magus losing to Knuckles doesn't just mean the stats were proven worthless. I don't know how many times people in this topic and on the board brought up things to show that Magus was overrated. This wasn't just saying, "Oh, Magus isn't strong" or whatever. There was actual matches pointing to him being such. I argued it, Leonhart argued it, Lopen argued it, Chichiri argued it. It's just that most didn't actually take it into great consideration. With Crono increasing since 2003, most assumed that Magus should at least have stayed constant with that 2003 value, but that clearly wasn't the case. You have to look no further than Sam Fisher and Luca Blight to catch that Magus was overrated.

Now, I admit that I didn't see him losing to Knuckles, but it certainly wasn't like the stats were drastically proven wrong. He was given his 2003 value in the 2004 stats for no particular reason at all. That was only because he suffered an SFF matchup with Crono, which was assumed that he would have suffered enough to be back at that previous value.

So, basically, the stats aren't just worthless based on that particular matchup. It's the only match, thus far, that has messed with the stats, but one shouldn't throw them out the window because of something that should have been seen from the beginning -- that being that Magus has been overrated for nearly two years now.

He doesn't. He nods his head instead of actually telling you what he's thinking, which I find pretty pathetic. At least in Suikoden, you get a ton of of those implied dialogue choices.

And nothing Crono does can compare to the Lumine Hall. Nothing.

In fact, the only other match, EVER, where the stats just bombed big time was the first Link/Cloud match. The rest? No problem at all.
