For some reason I thought Kefka was ranked above Ocelot. Makes sense, I suppose.

I dunno man, you sure that ain't a bit of bias?

Of course that's bias. It's actually pretty hard to say either way.

Cloud: A few points.

Sephiroth and Squall: AN INSANE ****ING LOT.

Any specific percentage gain? I need to figure out how much Cloud gained during that time, mostly.

Rule of thumb: Kefka isn't ranked ahead of anyone with a semblence of strength.

And good to see I'm not the only one who noticed how screwed up Pac-Man/Kefka is.

According to the stats, and not trying to do some silly adjustment from that far back, Cloud gained 12.61% from 2002 to 2003. He remained relatively the same from 2003 to 2004.

Luigi overperformed greatly on Pac-Man.

Since that match happened in 2k4, going by 2k3 stats, Luigi did around expected.

Soul, that's really hard to say.

Cloud was behind both Mario/Cloud PGCF and Link/Mario SFF in 2k2.

He can be anywhere between 40% to 48% on BL.

He gained 12% from his match with Mario, but we know that that outcome shouldn't have happened. That's why I brought up Squall and Seph. If they gained about the same, wouldn't Cloud gain the same, or relatively close to the same thing?

I'm just trying to figure out where Fox would end up in today's X-Stats. This would help me out a lot.

Correct if I'm wrong, but I don't think Crono/Kefka SFF was taken into account in the 2k3 stats.

IIRC Cloud was supposed to get something like 45% on Link in 2002. Sephiroth something like 39% if I remember the WDF adjustments correctly. Squall you can trust his numbers.

Then you'll have no definite answer concerning Cloud. There is absolutely no way to say for sure where he should have landed in the stats and I have heard some absolutely absurd claims about how much he should have gotten on Mario. So yeah, I'll get those Squall and Sephiroth numbers.

Sephiroth gained 6.36% from 2002 to 2003.
Squall gained 7.36% from 2002 to 2003.

And why would that be?

Samus is safely ahead of Crono in the X-stats.

She performed much better against Cloud than Crono did against Link, who is only a tad bit above Cloud.

Unless Samus decreases, Crono will need more than that to get over her.

And for the record, Samus is expected to get nearly 56% against Mario.

Considering that many of the perfects still left look like favorites brackets and that Knuckles broke so many brackets that very few of the higher ones were left standing as before, seems we really aren't out of the running just yet. Hell, even those of us that have Magus winning that division might still have a chance depending on if:

A) Many others picked Magus to win the division as well.
B) Knuckles somehow beats Squall too.

Here's to hoping!

And while we're on the subject of Leonhart's rallying, I'd like to attempt pulling a Shake and getting an obscure PC character in the contest. How would I get around to doing that?

By supporting Klaymen from The Neverhood; hell, he was on an obscure PS1 game called Skullmonkeys, too. He = worthy of rallying. =P

"Contest Stats, Discussion, and Social - Part [..]"; would this be a good new name given the way this topic currently works, or should we stick with the current one?

Don't like it; I think discussion and social are synonymus, myself...and, while I enjoy how the topic's generally been lately, I don't wanna see it get MORE social than it has been. Where it's been at is just right for me, and throwing in Social would likely push it over the top for me...

No, adding the commas makes it wordy.

...but, if you were to make the change (which, again, I hope you don't), keep the commas. It may make the topic a lil' longer, but seeing "Contest Stats, Discussion, and Social" is alot easier on my eyes than "Contest Stats Discussion and Social".

It's very strange. I love Tifa to death, but I won't be voting for her until she faces Sonic (well, unless KOS-MOS upsets Luigi).

Strangely enough, I also think alot of Tifa...yet, unless KOS-MOS pulls the upset or if Tifa beats both Sonic and Mega Man, then she's not gettin' my vote past the first round.

2k4 Sonic would've defeated 2k2 Kazuya (which are total different years and probably won't help us as much as one would think) 81/19 with that and both Tekken 4 and 5 being released since 2k2 would probably give Jin a boost
